We Pulled Our Kids Out Of School Today To Honor A Hero
Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz was one of the 13 service members killed in Kabul due to Biden's incompetence. He was a local man, and the Show Me State indeed showed up to honor his sacrifice. He was only 20 years old.

I knew many would show up, but I did not expect to see what I saw. Thousands of people. He had a 12 mile procession from the airport to the funeral home. They shut down all westbound traffic on the interstate to facilitate his procession, and the eastbound traffic stopped on their own. People on overpasses. People in the grass next to the highway. People on the highway. People driving who stopped and got out to stand next to their cars.

I was honored to be there, as was my son and one of his friends who are both Scouts. They wore their uniforms so that they could salute Jared as he passed.

Below is a photo of my son and his friend after we first arrived. Following photos show some of what took place.

The lens on your camera must need cleaning because my screen was blury and fuzzy. 1st time seeing a Hummer converted into a hearse. That was a sight to be part of. God bless our troops be they past / present / and future. ..... Semper FI ................... drill

An incredible tribute. Something your children will remember much longer than anything that was taught in class today. I am confident in saying that it was also much more important than anything at school.

Good for you, and thanks for being there.

Well done, I’m sure your boy’s experience will last a lifetime, unlike whatever the school was gonna teach him that day. The pictures are amazing to see, I love to see our citizens coming out to support our hero. Prayers to his family and the other 12 families and I hope seeing the support for their son made the day a little easier for them.

Good on you and by those youngsters. It’s stuff like this post that restores some hope that people like us aren’t about to become extinct.
