Old news. I think Elba could pull it off though. Tom Hardy would also be my choice. Maybe a movie where Bond chases Bourne

Elba, I can see working well, also.

But, around about a year ago, there were multiple reports that Elba had denied being cast as Bond...

Elba would be good, but I think Bond should be younger.

Elba would do a good job on the acting front but he's too old to be believable in the role, similar to Roger Moore's last four or five Bond movies.

Ian Fleming wrote that James Bond looked like Hoagy Carmichael with a scar on his cheek (but Bond himself disagreed later in "Casino Royale"). I didn't know who Hoagy Carmichael was when I originally read that, but saw him years later with his little derby hat in "Laramie" and thought "What?!" It made more sense when I saw a photo of him in a suit and tie from years earlier.

I agree. It is akin to all the revisionist history that we are being subjected to.

James Bond is a fictional British secret agent with a license to kill. He's not black, white or purple.
