We cut the refrigerant line before we go to the landfill here. Get rid of that hazardous freon you know. _____________________ Be careful what you tolerate. You are teaching people how to treat you.

Our town picks them up. All we have to do is call the Refuse Department and schedule a date. They just require that you take the door off so no little kids can get trapped in it and suffocate. "If Gun Control worked, Chicago would look like Mayberry, not Thunderdome" - Cam Edwards

Call a local used appliance place. Sometimes they'll take them for free to rob the good parts off of it to rebuild others.

In my gated community I put out a stove and the landscape people tossed it on their truck before the trash people could pick it up. They were polite and asked before they took it.

Around here, you can either buy a $15 appliance tag and schedule a pick up, or leave it out by the curb, and Sanford or son will pick it up, usually within 12 hours The only thing they haven’t picked up was an old microwave. Got rid of 2 fridges and a dehumidifier via the Sanford & son method. “I won't be wronged. I won't be insulted. I won't be laid a-hand on.
