Surprisingly not true! The Meater uses bluetooth, and it works fine inside the oven or the outdoor grill.

I have been using the Meater for a few years now and it has been great. It works in the oven and in the charcoal grill. At worst you may need to move your phone slightly closer to your cooking appliance but its not bad at all.

I especially like it for meats I do not normally do. I got a shipment of meat for Christmas and I made some pork medallions I have never tried to grill before. Nailed it the first time.

It has all of the temp info for safe cooking and lets you select your doneness. It also lets you know when your meat is getting close and will set off your phone for alerts so its hard to miss.
