The time has finally come! I have escaped the evil clutches of New England and have the garage of my dreams I need some recommendations on sturdy shelving and cabinets. Small cubbies for fasteners as well. I'm over using the old kitchen cabinets and the like. I want floor to ceiling units, roughly 60 linear feet. I really want to lay the new place out. Spare no expense, as it were.

I recently bought Husky shelves for Home Depot. I am very happy with them. On sale now for $169. Living the Dream

Keep an eye on Home Depot for their daily deal. They are on there frequently in various sizes and colors. Most will cover a 12 foot wall if I remember right.

I just checked and Costco no longer carries the garage storage shelves I purchased from them. They are hell for stout and very configurable (eg now 2 standalone shelving units but in Canada had the 2 units linked with the middle link being workbench height). At the time, they were less money, stouter, and better coated that anything Deep Homo or Blowes sold. Costco currently sells the saferacks brand and it might be worth checking out in person. If you have a high garage, consider the hanging shelves. Costco does have those. https://www.costco.com/saferac...oduct.100006897.html I was considering them but realized that was a lot of space and I didnt need that much.

These... https://www.homedepot.com/p/Hu...082?modalType=drawer With these... https://www.homedepot.com/p/HD...361?modalType=drawer Best storage solution I've managed to put in place. Just make sure to label all those storage bins appropriately so you can find what need when you need it. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. I have purchased Newage products from the Home Depot. I'am very happy with the product. Well made, but not cheap. I looked at the Husky brand and others before I the spent the money. https://www.homedepot.com/b/Ne...Products/N-5yc1vZawe

I went with Home Depot New Age cabinets as well. You can get great savings on specials and their packages and then fill out with individuals. Id stay away from "shelves"...as dust settles and its a hard clean up. Try to get everything concealed inside a cabinet...thats what I tried to do. Makes the space look less cluttered. Below was my starting point...Ive since added and filled out more...mostly with tool chests. _____________________________ Pledge allegiance or pack your bag! As Patriot noted above, I would stay away from too many shelves as the dust accumulation over time is difficult to clean up. Obviously coolers are perfect for the high shelves. I went with cabinets for everything that would fit in one. One other thing I recommend on cabinets is if there are any open holes on the bottom or the back that are not filled with a bolt, etc - cover them with a piece of tape. Keeps the little spiders out. Over time that can be a PITA. Also look on CL, I found some 5 drawer Vidmar drawer units recently for really cheap, that have large drawers with industrial glides. Lotsa space in them and they handle weight well. https://i.postimg.cc/2yVcXCF3/vidmar-cab.jpg

Another vote for the safe racks. Allowed my wife a whole new layer of horizontal surface on which she can stack crap on the floors... That said, keep a ladder nearby, it's annoying when you can't reach what you want (my garage has 3 steps up to house level, so garage ceiling is super high). ________________________________________________ "You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. I also recently went with a Newage package. Purchased thru Wayfair after watching prices elsewhere and contemplating the shipping options. I needed the pallets rolled into the garage not dropped at the street. They have a free 3D CAD layout service via their website which can help in planning. For me, the Newage Bold series was the right value. You can go deeper/stronger cabinets with their Pro series. Easy install with a second set of hands. Plenty of hardware provided and good quality.

I have a couple of Gladiator cabinets and also a Gladiator workbench . The bench is an absolute beast . I think I could park my truck on top of it . My wife said she is going to buy a couple more of the cabinets to replace some open shelving I have . Cool by me .
