2020 Honda CrV and Toyota Rav 4 for my wife. Bought the Toyota
Any feedback appreciated.

Sister in Law has a Rav4, she likes it makes the trip back and forth to WVA with it, not the top of the line, and not AWD but it's nice, I drove it once, it's quite neutral Japanese Toyota mid size suv. Drove the Honda CRV as well when looking for a new vehicle for the daughter.
Of the two they are pretty even competitors, the Honda was more money for the options provided than the HondaToyota .
Ended up with a Kia Sorento, More room, more options, more seats, for less money. I know the resident Toyotaphiles hate it when KIA is mentioned but in all the vehicle reviews, KIA is at the top of the list right there with the Japanese.
I drove both and liked the CRV better overall, but I didn't care for the CRV Engine, ended up leasing a RAV4.

My daughter just bought a 2020 CRV awd. No complaints plenty of room, plenty of power. Last weekend ride in the mountains elevation 10,000 ft, crv ran really good.

I have to agree with this. I am really impressed with our Sorento. I test drove and priced everything in the class when buying an SUV and went with the Sorento. It has surpassed all of our expectations and needs.

no real help Jeff. But one thing that always baffles me is how many Rav4's there are on the used market. Seem's odd that there are always so many. There has to be something to it. And I am a Toyota guy.

Owned both. Prefer the Rav4. Although you see a lot of both on the road. The Rav4 seemed to have more room.

Around here they're offering 1.9% financing on a new CRV, I got the .9% deal four years ago.

They are both going to be excellent vehicles so it will come down to your driving experience.
I drove the Tacoma at the fawning of the forum and thought it was terrible so I would just follow what feels best.

My wife's on her third Rav4 since 2006 and loves them. Never a problem with any of the three and the newest is a 2019 Hybrid. It was $800 more than the gas engine model so it seemed the best way to go and it's been a great vehicle.
I was planning on trading in my Tundra for a new one but the price of trucks turns my stomach. I'm thinking of keeping my Tundra and adding a Rav4 Prime as my daily driver.

This is one of those 'it doesn't matter really' questions. In aggregate there are no material differences that matter other than price (if a big number) and service issues. My family has several of both and there is nothing to pick between them after like a couple of hundred thousand miles in aggregate. Me personally I think the toyota will ultimately be more reliable if you drive it to death, but the honda is actually more pleasant to live with. FWIW>

I own a 19 RAV4 Adventure trim level. That gives it a slight lift, an gray interior with orange accents (looks good), and I think an outlet in the way back for camping (I think). I really like the car. Not as much oomph as my wife’s Highlander. I agree that comparing the Kia quality wise to the Toyota is a losing proposition. I would have bought the hybrid but they wouldn’t move on the price so for the 4K dollar difference I can buy a lot of gas. The hybrid was real nice though.
I like the two tone paint jobs available as well. The CRV looks like a mom car and the Toyota was redone to have a Taco like front end, looks less mom like.

My wife and I spent 4 days last week shopping the Compact SUV's.
In your choice of the two, I would take the Honda CRV over the Rav 4. Ratings on Rav4 are pretty low. We drove Toyota's, Nissans, Hyundai, Kia, Honda and Subaru. Toyota Highlander Hybred best of the bunch, but it was the largest and most expensive. Toyota RAV4: Looked nice, found it loud and shifted poorly. Hyundai and Kia: Santa Fe and Sonoma, interior not nice, engine too lould and to small. Honda CRV: A little too much road noise, but in general I liked the car. Dealership wanted sticker price plus other mark up items they put on there. No deal. To my surprise wife wanted the Subaru Forester Touring model. Nice ride all around, heated front and rear seats,$5K off sticker price, 0% finance.

Households get bigger and they move up in size to Highlanders in many cases.

The wife has a 2017 CR-V Touring. We drove the Rav4 and Ford Escape at the same time. We went with the CR-V as there was literally no comparison. She loves that vehicle, hasn't cost us a penny and she gets around 34 mpg.
Damn nice SUV.

Don't really think you can go wrong with either vehicle. It will likely come down to personal preference. My mom bought a RAV4 a few years back because she though the seats in the CRV were too hard for her, and she loves the car.

If you want the one more refined and more upscale, go for the CR-V. Both are going to go down the road with little to no problems.
