That is interesting. It was the exact opposite for my GE, hardwire was default and plug-in was optional. I wonder if that is a Euro thing? Their kitchens tend to be much more modular and movable.

Just an FYI: we started using plain old Cascade powder after seeing from numerous sources that this is the best detergent to use, not the pacs or gel and it works really well. I fill the compartment halfway with about 2 Tb of the powder and then put about 2 Tsp in the little prewash indentation.

Salesman says this machine has a water softener built in and uses water softener salt. Salesman said nothing special is required but they do recommend Finish dishwasher salt.

I know I've worn you all out with my dishwasher saga but I've got to give the final play by play.

Bought it yesterday, installer called last night and asked if today between 9am-1pm was too soon. Bring it I said. Showed up at 10:30 and was gone by 11:30 - Smoothest transaction ever. Charlie Wilson's Dixie Appliance is the local independent dealer I bought from. Smile

Are you sure it's German made, all the button are in English? Razz

Looks good, should get plenty of good use out of it.

As to the plug, ours is hard wired, not plugged in, you can get a plug pigtail wire for dishwashers at the big box stores and install it that way, if you have a plug under the sink

We do have one( a plug) under the sink, the dishwasher has the three prong wire on it vs hard wired, it's basically up to you as to how you want it done.
