This is with a PC. https://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/DRM Still looking for android software to handle DRM.

Found some interesting other digital format decoding android software here:

As an aside I found this android app to play with in the interim. I know there are internet sites I could visit on my computer for this but I want to get a feel for using my phone for this stuff.
Skywave Schedules connect to hundreds of remote radio receivers from the KiwiSDR network using the built in radio schedules or check a remote radio station is on air while you're trying to receive it with your own radio receiver.

Found software for android to decode DRM broadcasts.

Software appears to be a bit sketchy though.... Roll Eyes

There's also an app called Wavesink on google play but it too doesn't have many successful reviews.

Had to laugh. Big Grin

Yes I've been an "SWL" (short wave listener) since my pre-teen years. And I also recall my first attempts at AM DXing logging stations from my bedroom using an old Hallicrafters S-53A and a wire antenna strung across our roof in upstate NY. In the mid '60s I added a Heathkit GD-125 Q-Multiplier which worked quite well ( https://youtu.be/-CvGoKjJQLM ).

But more to the point, I came across my "Registered Monitoring Station" call sign issued by CRB Research back in the late '80s - early '90s (Communications Research Bureau - owned by Tom Kneitel. They published a lot of related reference materials). Mine was KCA6XS. The "CA" indicates California where I lived at the time. It was useful when requesting QSL cards. Big Grin

A little update on that Yaseu QTR-24 World Clock. Frown

Weirdly, of late when the clock is on the wall or on it's tilt stand where the dial face is horizontal, the second hand intermittently hangs up. But when placed with the dial face up, no problems. Eek

I presume the old movement needs a cleaning as described here http://foxtango.org/QTR-24%20Page/QTR-24%20Page.htm but that's more than I'm capable of at this stage of the game.
Oh well. Roll Eyes

Since I have a small collection acquired decades ago of '60s and '70s World / GMT clocks from a number of manufacturers, I decided to "park" the vintage Yaseu until I can get it fixed. I pulled a Seiko QQZ877B GMT desk clock out, charged it with a fresh battery, and added it to the monitoring setup. Big Grin

As an aside I currently have two other vintage Seiko GMT clocks in service in the house:
A GXG325BLH on the living room coffee table:

And a QQZ885FLH on the home theater TV stand:

I rearranged my monitoring setup as shown in the picture in the post above this one. The Autek QF-1A provides an effective notch filter and when combined with the RS DSP-40's audio noise reducing improves the readability of transmissions received on the Palstar R30CC receiver. There are a pair of heavy duty Diamond CX-210A SO-239 antenna coax switches nestled behind the speaker.

I also pulled the MFJ-1020 (box with only 3 knobs) out of storage adding it to the stack with the intent to use it as a filter for my inbound SDR (software defined radio) in direct sampling mode as suggested by member radioman.

Here's a list of my receiving equipment with frequencies covered. They cover LW, MW (BCB), SW (HF), VHF, UHF spectrums with AM-W, AM-N, FM-W, FM-N, USB, LSB, and CW receiving modes.

I keep the Kaito portable (aka Degen DE-1103) in the kitchen nook. And as mentioned in my opening post in this thread, the two lower scanners listed have been "retired" for two reasons. They predate trunked and encrypted public service networks and have developed performance issues. The Pro-64 is similar but I keep it available primarily for NOAA WX station reception. The soon to arrive RTL-SDR will fill the void they leave.
