Two women are behind bars in Calhoun County after authorities said they tried to kill the owner of an Oxford motel during a robbery after luring him to their room with a tale of rodents.
Police on Tuesday identified the suspects as Keandra Morgan, 26, and Keshawanna Parker, 26, both of Anniston. Court records show the incident happened on Dec. 3, and charges against the girls were issued Dec. 29.
Oxford police Capt. L.G. Owens said the victim was Bharat Patel, who owns the Budget Inn on Barry Street. The women, he said, summoned Patel to the room they had rented at the motel by telling him they had found rodents.
Once Patel was inside the room, the women reportedly hit him with a blunt object, choked him with a string and tied him up. Patel's wallet, credit card, an undisclosed amount of cash and his vehicle were taken.
Anniston police officers later recovered the stolen vehicle in Randolph Park.
After the women were identified as suspects, the warrants were issued and the women were arrested in Mississippi. They were then extradited back to Alabama.
Both women are charged with attempted murder and robbery. On Tuesday, they remained in the Calhoun County Jail with bonds set at $40,000 each. Morgan has multiple previous arrests on drug charges. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Bigboreshooter,

Girls? They're both 26 years old, fled to another state and had to be extradited and have been charged with attempted murder and robbery. Girls.
