| Would you have another email address you could send to me? And thanks for all that you’ve done. Deeply appreciated.

| Not to resurrect a dead thread, but thanks to events and unpredictability, the flag I'd originally arranged, ain't coming.
Instead, a few weeks ago, I grabbed a flag on the run and took it to Afghanistan, where it flew on a mission in support of Operation Freedom Sentinel. It went around the world, including several other operations in other locations. If I can get the contact information for the Veteran, once more, I'll arrange to get this flag to him, if it's not too late.
It's not the timely response I'd hoped to deliver, but I didn't forget, and would still like to offer it, if the veteran in question can still receive it. Apologies again, for the lengthy delay.
I don't think I have the contact information. Let me know. |

| sns3guppy, Yep, he’s still alive and kicking! He’ll outlast us all. I think he’ll be 88 this year. He enlisted in WWII and served in Korea where he received a Purple Heart. He enlisted into WWII as a teenager (14-15 yo) with the Marine Corp. Served in the Army in Korea and finished his service in the USAF. He's a last of a breed for sure and we are quite proud of him! Thank you so much for making this happen! If he’s up for it, I’ll certainly post a picture of him with the flag. It’ll mean a lot to him, this I know. He’ll be so honored. Thank-you.

I admire people like you who don’t forget what they committed to; it’s a standard I try to hold myself to.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946. |

Well, I feel like a horse's ass because this request went out nine months ago and the veteran clearly deserves the flag, and doesn't deserve the wait. Aging veterans, especially those who served in as far back as the second world war, are a precious resource that dwindles in number these days. Even Vietnam veterans are aging, which still throws me for a loop. I'll get a display case for the flag this week; it has a letter of authentication signed to go with. All I'll need is the contact info (again) for sending, and it will go out with tracking. |

| Please don’t beat yourself on it. I was elated you had remembered and followed through. That speaks a ton for you all by itself, no matter what the request was. I replied back last night to your email with the vet’s details. Let me know you received it. Also, any costs for a display or shipping are mine. It’s the very least I can offer back. In the end, the flag will have a wonderful story behind it and as I stated before, will be greatly cherished. All the thanks to you sns3guppy!

| No cost; it's no trouble at all.
I didn't receive the email, but I recall there was a problem with the email exchange before. For some reason they weren't going through. I'll send you a different email address; let's see if that one goes through. |

| Thanks! The email issue must be on my end somehow. I received your reply with the alternate email addresses and have just now sent off replies to both. Hope one of them gets to you. If not, we can try an old fashioned phone call.

| Ok, here we go! The flag was delivered to a VERY thrilled patriot! Thank you again sns3guppy! Here is an excerpt from a note his wife and he sent, and I quote: “Thank-you so much for having a flag flown in his honor. It was such a surprise when we received it today. He put it in a place of honor in the dining room in front of the gun case.” Rock and roll Sig Forum!

| With everything that we are facing right now (COVID-19), this is pretty awesome to read. Thank you to everyone who made this happen. I’ve followed this from the start. Good job Sigforum. I surely needed a breath of fresh air and good news.

And the veteran himself. A veteran of several wars and three services, he deserves a salute. A lot of salutes. Makes my day to see him. Thank you. |
