It seems like the 9 addresses a few annoying things I've found on the 6 like 2x screen brightness. That alone is significant. The battery life is listed as the same, but supports fast charging. Slightly more useful screen size never hurts.

I like some of the features of the Ultra2, but don't have the 2x4 size wrists needed to wear it without looking ridiculous. It looks pretty chunky in pictures.

What do you think? Is it worth trading a 6 for a 9 or screw the appearance and go all the way to Ultra2?

I didn’t think so. My 6 is almost 4 years old but going to wait to see what the 10 brings. Hopefully they will release it in blue like my 6.

Mrs. and I recently upgraded from the 6 to the 8. I'm glad we did. I like the always on feature along with more health apps. Battery life is good - I charge nightly. Seemed like a no-brainer.

I don't think the 9 offers much more over the 8.

Look at the Apple Refurbished site for an 8. I see they are sold out - or restricted at the moment but I've bought refurbished and been very happly - Remember, 10% Veterans discount.

I'm sorry if I hurt you feelings when I called you stupid - I thought you already knew - Unknown

Theres a big brew haha going on with ITC and Apple over the Ultra and 9, an appeals court stayed the order to ban sales, so you have until Jan 10th for now to get a new watch of either 9 or Ultra.

I don’t have very big wrists and the ultra 2 isn’t too big for me at all. If I were going to upgrade I would go straight for the ultra 2. Even brighter display and the battery life is very very good. I wear it 24x7 and charge it every other day. I’ve gone three days between charging once, but for sleep tracking it needs 30% before you’re designated sleep time that you set up and that day I had enough battery life to skip charging for the day.

Same here. I have the original Ultra which is the same size as the Ultra 2. I had upgraded from one of the smaller Apple Watches. I can't remember which. I thought the Ultra would be way too big for me but it's not at all. I think the rectangular shape has something to do with it.

I don't have big wrists either and was concerned the Ultra would be too big. It's not. I like it a lot over the 7 and think it's worth it.

I wear the Ultra2. It’s looks big and clunky in pictures. For me, wearing it is the right size. And I don’t have big wrists. I would not want the smaller watch now.

I’m not sure what health features the A 6 has, but the 8 and 9 have excellent ECG readings; and even the recent SE has a way of detecting atrial fibrillation. It did in my wife. Nonetheless, I got her a Christmas present of an upgrade to the Apple 9 so she can record an ECG if she feels palpitations. We want to see if she really needs to be on lifelong Eliquis, or if her A fib is so rare and short that she is not at high risk of stroke.
There is an ongoing clinical trial testing whether the Apple Watch can be used to detect AF requiring anticoagulation rather than lifelong anticoagulation. It’s a very important question.
