BeancookerLet the government give you the flu for $3,300
No. Sounds about as fun as jamming toothpicks under my fingernails.
Aside of a minor upper respiratory infection, I haven’t been sick in so long I can’t remember.
Maybe I would be great for the test as I have a good immune system, but I can’t imagine purposefully contracting influenza.

pbslingerThe good news is you'd be immune to that strain once you recovered.

I seem to remember participating in an experiment like this in the late 60's/early 70's, it was called "college."

horsedocI went through the clinical trials for the now used rabies vaccine and treatment while in veterinary school for $500.
I would do it again at 25 and broke but not at 50 and comfortable. It wasn't the shots that were so bad but your veins can only withstand so many pokes.
Nurses still have trouble with my veins 25 years later.

ZSMICHAELWell hmmm. Plasma gets you 20 bucks, and if you go twice per week they up to 30 bucks per visit. Sometimes you get juice. I could line up quite a few voluteers for this deal.
Prison inmates would go for this. In fact, time off a sentence would be worth it for some.
Many of the previous studies were done in this manner. Sometimes without consent. Usually worse stuff though like syphillis.

EasyFireI would do it, but sadly they would likely reject me even though I am 75. I do not get sick even childhood illnesses. Allergies sometime, but nothing else.
Injuries however is a different story.
