vthokyGrill covers -- what's good, and durable?
Good evening, SF. As I cleaned up after dinner this evening I noticed a tear in my grill cover.
The one I have isn't the bargain-basement cheapie, but I'm sure there are better covers out there. If I remember right, this one was about $30 at Lowe's a year or so ago.
The obvious answer is to build a roof over the deck -- which is certainly something I'd like to do. But between now and when I clobber that danged leprechaun and take the pot of gold, I need to replace the existing cover.
For additional information: there's a good bit of sun on my deck each afternoon, plus it gets cold and snowy here from time to time.
What do you recommend?

Batty67Good timing. I'm in the market for a new cover as well.

M1GarandyThey are not indestructible, But Classic Accessories has replaced the cover on my grill that sits outside 24/7/365 2-3 times so far under warranty FOC, with minimal questions asked.
They are far superior to the factory Weber covers I'd previously been buying.

selogicThere are places that make custom covers for anything . We have a place in my town . Heavy duty weatherproof material . They'll last a lot longer than those Chinese imports .

Skins2881I don't use covers. Don't want to trap the moisture. First Webber Genesis went 20+ years, second one is on 10+ years. In my opinion they are a waste of money, and an even bigger waste of energy.

NavyGuyThe Weber branded covers are excellent. They keep water out but are breathable so captured moisture is not an issue. Pricey, but they last for years. If there's an issue Weber is pretty good about sending out a new one. I haven't had to take advantage of that customer service issue as my current cover is 4 years old and although a bit faded does the job. I picked up a replacement because I caught it on sale, but it's sitting in my garage. I think my current cover will last through the winter.

wingsparI bought one of those Webber covers for my Webber grill years ago. Works great, but for some reason, neighborhood cats and dogs mark it all the time. It gets stiff in cold weather, but I just take it in the house in cold weather and it’s pliable when it’s time to put it back on. It sits on a covered porch.

downtownvI've always bought these and anything this brand!
https://www.amazon.com/Classic...2%2Caps%2C196&sr=8-4SAVE your receipt they come with a 3 year replacement warranty and never last 2 years in my salt water environment.
They do however send free replacements I think I'm on my 4th replacement cover while only paying for 1, 5 years ago!
It's payback for the nice Chinese producer.

PatriotWe went custom. Found them online…I can get the name if anyone wants it.
We didn’t want a cover that went down to the ground as mice climb the inside. We wanted a cover to just cover the top 1/2.
It took a few back and forth emails but it’s great. Exact fit to the grill.
I think they are in India to use cheap labor. But it was top notch quality, and shipped ok.

IronbuttI bought a new Weber grill about 8 years ago & got the Weber cover at the same time. It sits out on the uncovered part of the deck, in the PA weather all year round, and it's still in good shape.

MinnowThe Classic Accessories "Ravenna" grill cover has been a good one for me. It's not too expensive, has a good fit, and the fabric is durable.

Thanks for the recommendation.
I just ordered the Terrazzo Water-Resistant 64 Inch BBQ Grill Cover.

OKCGeneTalk to your local upholstery shops (car boat rv awnings home stuff etc) about Sunbrella fabric and get their advice. They can sew anything up for you and make it fit jussstt fine, and as well fix up anything.

Jamess1I have had great luck with the cover store. My brother and I purchased various covers. For my grill theirs has lasted longer than OEM.

I have Sunbrella cushions on my outdoor furniture and rain soaks right through it and soaks the cushions. Apparently they have different grades of fabric and only one is considered waterproof. I was shocked to find most outdoor furniture is not the waterproof fabric. For a grill I’d make sure it’s waterproof.
