George Washington's church to remove his memorial plaque
Christianity is about the forgiveness of sins.

Complete hypocrites.

My solution would work nicely. They want to take Washington out of the church, don't they? Then, eliminate the church.

And then...

they

are

defeated

This is partially your fault, para. They came to Alexandria from Atlanta. Big Grin

These pygmies are not worthy of wiping George Washington's ass.

Maybe it's a good thing that the name of this visionary, this paragon of honor, courage, and idealism, be removed from that enclave of sniveling weakness and hypocrisy.

I would have no remorse were the shell that is left reduced to ashes.

Since the church condoned slavery back then they should close their doors today.

I was born, baptized and raised Episcopalian. I recognize nothing of the church in which I once found a home.

Episcopalians have become the weak-kneed, cowering apologists of the Protestant denominations. Next, they will apologize for being Christian monotheists.

The religion that once powered the British Empire across the globe and which was the faith of the founders and leading light of manifest destiny has fallen. It has abandoned faith and hope for doubt and questioning.

The same applies to the denomination of my youth, the Methodist Church, which actually had serious missionaries, occasional revival meetings, and was largely responsible for the Great Awakening.

Holy fuck! I knew they had moved pretty far to the left, but that's incredible!

Y'all must watch the "Apostles Creed" vid by that rug muncher in lbj's link.

Justjoe's right; get that plaque outta there right now for Christ's sake (literally).

Maybe it's best Washington's plaque is removed from that coven...

Definitely a situation where President Washington can say "I didn't leave the church, the church left me."

Odd messages they have:

quote:
Christ Church of Alexandria, Virginia, where the motto is “All are welcome, no exceptions,”

quote:
“Mother Earth” form of Christianity that preaches tolerance and inclusivity for everything

EXCEPT

quote:
board of vestry has decided it can no longer tolerate a plaque dedicated to the memory of its most famous member, George Washington.
