PHPaulI'll be interested in any responses as well.
One reason I quit working on Stihl equipment is that I couldn't find a source for anything outside air filters and such.

Black92LXI have only found knock off parts online.
My local Stihl dealers have gotten everything I needed at reasonable prices even for long discontinued models.

tatortoddI've bought a bunch of Toro parts from
Jack's Small Engines and they carry Stihl aftermarket parts. Had very good experiences with Toro, and my Dad has had good experience with tractor parts from them too.

JohnCourageStihl keeps a tight hold on machines and parts. I don't believe you can find parts online. Best just to hit a local Ace hardware or turf and tractor business. I believe price is also controlled so you will pay the same no matter where you go.

bigdealWhat specifically are you looking for? I'd go after market for plastic, and OEM for mechanical.

chellim1Sometimes you can find what you are looking for on ebay. Hit and miss, of course, but often there are deals.
I've found a Stihl dealer in southern Illinois who has periodic sales that are pretty good and he will ship. I bought 3 Stihl chains recently for my Stihl MS362 for $60 shipped, no tax. That's an even $20 a piece which is cheaper than the junk chains at Home Depot.
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

41Cutters Choice has the best prices on basic parts.
You can usually find Stihl brand parts on ebay which are usually Stihl dealers moving their inventory.

fiasconvaI remember a thread a while ago about buying Stihl parts and wrote down the site. Don't know if it's still active or not.
