Do you save blow molded power tool cases?
I've always saved the plastic cases from Dewalt tools because they looked so darn handy. They're really not, so I have about a half a cubic yard of them cluttering my attic.

Is there any useful way to repurpose them, or do I start putting one a week in the trash?

I keep my jigsaw in one, and my hammer drill in another because it's a convenient way to store an oddly-shaped tool and it's accessories.

The rest have been thrown away.

Toss them unless you're going to sell them, which most of us never do. They'll just get handed down to my kids without the boxes.

I see them at garage sales all the time, it seems people keep them around .

I ve seen $6.00 and $8.00 price tags on them .

Cut the inner pegs and whatnot out of the case and then line the box with foam to make a storage case, or forget the foam and use them to store ammo.

I actually keep the tools in the boxes. I would toss them otherwise.

Pack them full of the fresh feces of your choice so they have some weight and leave them in the bed of your pickup. Videotape results and share with us if possible.

I like this. I have a YUGE supply of goose poop at the moment, and a couple of blow-molded SIG boxes I'll never use...

But if the goose poop is valuable, you are sure to put a small padlock (from the dollar store) or zip tie on the case.

Should make it look more enticing and your cases will be gone in no time.

I have a few, but I have tool racks and storage for the tools. I think they need to go away as they just take up space.

I'm in this camp. It also helps me keep things organized. Jigsaw blades in the jigsaw case, oscillating blades in the oscillating case.

I dont, however, keep screw guns or impact drivers in those case because I use them constantly.

I kept them until two weeks ago. I realized there's no reason to keep them so I chucked them.

I have cut out the guts and repurposed them, not sure if it was worth it. I like the old metal cases, easy to put other tools in.

Timely thread! Cleaning out a storage unit; I think I have a shelf of molded tool boxes now I can throw away with a clean conscience, cheered on by my invisible friends.

I save them all. It keeps them from being banged up while they are being stored until the next time I need them. My cousin however, tosses the cases out as soon as he buys a new power tool. To each his own.

I keep all of my DeWalt tools in their cases. There is room for a charger, spare battery, and maybe even some blades/bits. It keeps things tidy, organized, and convenient.

I kept my Dewalt in its case with a charger and an extra battery until my son took the whole kit and kaboodle. Now I have a Porter CAble set in a bag. I guess I like either setup.
