https://www.orlandosentinel.co...peramerom-story.html "In June, the Sentinel was sued by its landlord for not paying rent for three months during the coronavirus pandemic. According to an Orange Circuit Court lawsuit, Midtown Opportunities said it was owed about $370,000 for rent from April through June." While I do not wish for people to lose their livelihood, when they are skewed so far to the Left, my sympathy goes away. As said on 'Big Bang Theory' they should "pon-far" themselves! Print newspapers are on their deathbed. They are owned by Tribune Publishing in Chicago, which owns a bevy of liberal leaning newspapers. It is telling that the parent company is not paying the bills. Orlando is unfortunate to be losing such a fine fish wrapper. CMSGT USAF (Retired) Chief of Police (Retired)

Commercial real estate is going to have a long, bumpy road ahead. Many companies don't see the need for such expensive buildings when many employees can work remotely.

Thank you Very little |
Blahahaha went to the link and was told I need to pay to see the article on them not having the money to pay their rent. We cancelled it years ago, horrible paper, very pro left wing Chicago style news, doesn't bother me at all. One less fake news paper..

Is the newspaper actually going away or just the building? I read that employees are still working remotely, so it appears the paper is still in business (unfortunately)? _________________________________________________________________________ “A man’s treatment of a dog is no indication of the man’s nature, but his treatment of a cat is. For those of you living in Florida, you'll love this. Per Florida law, cities/counties are required under law to advertise their upcoming annual budgets in a newspaper with local distribution. Since the Sentinel is the 'only' newspaper meeting that requirement for Central Florida, I tried (unsuccessfully) a few years ago to point out to a couple local mayors that they needed to start pressing for a change in that law to make virtual/digital advertising of their budgets possible before the Sentinel disappeared. And even if the 'journalists' are working from home, without their building there will be no print copy of the Sentinel available, which is the requirement in current law. I was told that I was being alarmist for no reason and that they were not worried about this issue given the Sentinel had been here for decades. Just more people with zero intellect and/or vision of where the future was headed. Think I'll drop each of them that are still in office a nice "I told you so" email. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Is that building location where they physically print the newspapers?

Bad Apple of the AAP |
Oh yes, the same Orlando Sentinel that published the names and addresses of all the CHL holders in Florida a few years ago... Well, bye!

Yep. No building downtown, no print newspaper. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Every man should have several guns. And several dogs, because a man with a cat is a woman. Kurt Schlichter

Orlando wouldn't be a bad place if that dickhead buddy and his cronies like demmings just went swimming in Lake Jesup. _____________

I remember when the Orlando Sentinel used to be a good newspaper.

Doesn't sound like this has any effect on their ability to continue printing the newspaper, since that building is not where they do the printing.

Sorry I missed this! LOL. I'll let them pick- Lake Eola or Lake Como or Nona or about a hundred other lakes that would take them! I used to work for a State Political Party in College- lifetime NDA signed so I could help the research Director. I met some of these folks while a college kid (late 90's) and they made me sick then. In private, there is NO discussion of right/ wrong or ideals- even communist/ socialist ideals. They only talk poorly of their opponents and how to win. They only talk about what good it will do THEMSELVES if they win. It's pretty bad and VERY obvious if you spend time with them (shudder at the memory)- but the Orlando Slantinel has never said one bad word about any of them that it wasn't forced to say. ***************** Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Ben Franklin

Well - Edmund probably choose Lake Jessup since it has the highest density of gators in FL (other than the Everglades) so he's trying to maximize chompage.

Duh. I was not even reading that that as "swimming" so much as dumping. My mistake lol! And I'm okay with either. ***************** Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Ben Franklin

From the link posted by the OP - "In 2017, the newspaper closed its printing press operation and outsourced printing to a Gannett plant in Lakeland." _________________________________________________________________________ “A man’s treatment of a dog is no indication of the man’s nature, but his treatment of a cat is.
