https://www.cbsnews.com/news/v...live-stream-updates/ After a tie-breaking name drawing by Virginia State Board of Elections officials, Republican David Yancey has officially been declared the winner in the 94th Virginia House of Delegates District seat in Newport News. Yancey, the incumbent, maintains his seat in the House of Delegates after an unconventional end to the Virginia race. Republicans now hold a 51-49 majority in the state House. Election officials on Thursday, in accordance with state law, determined the winner of the tie "by lot" by drawing the winning name from a film canister which was placed inside a decorative blue bowl.

Guess there's no "bowl challenge" in Virginia? ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Every man should have several guns. And several dogs, because a man with a cat is a woman. Kurt Schlichter

Obviously rigged and unfair or the God Damned Commie would have won. Another box of ballots was found just this morning in the trunk of a car in a Walmart Parking lot. Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me. When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Uh-huh. "Film canister". Right. Perhaps having a little resin in the "film canister" made it easier to grab whichever slip was chosen?

If I were David Yancey I'd probably go buy a few lottery tickets. Hell, I'm gonna buy a couple myself (if I remember).
