Great story here. Long read but worth it.

I agree - a great story. But, he was released and came back in 1973 and started living his life again. Why is the Chicago Tribune and/or Washington Post running this story now?

I wondered the same. Ken Burns is in the process of a documentary about Vietnam who knows. Maybe a book release. Just posted because I usually do not see stories like this in the Washington Post.
