Myles Goodwin, the lead singer of April Wine, passed away over the weekend at 75

I sued to go to every show they did locally, particularly the smaller venues and he used to come by the school when we were having band practice, just listen and watch

The band I don't think made it big here in the US, but they had a few that made airplay - Roller and Oowatanite but my favorite was Could Have Been a Lady

I Like to Rock and Just Between You and Me got a lot of air play in SE Wisconsin. Every band had to have a power ballad. Roller got airplay as well, but I don’t remember hearing the other two.

It’s also possible Just Between You and Me didn’t get a lot of air play, but I remember it as one of the slow songs at the roller rink. There’s a lot of songs I remember from the roller rink that I never heard on the radio.

I remember one of their songs had phrases from a Beatles and Stones song in it....don't know the name.

I was a fan back in the day, but not to the point of having any records or tapes. However, I downloaded some of their biggie songs over the years.

I saw them at the 1980 Texxas Jam, and they rocked the house. Sad to hear of his passing.

April Wine opened for Hall and Oats here in Cedar Rapids. They put on an excellent show and had the crowd going. Hall and Oats, not so much. We decided to go to the bar at the Top of the Five after two of H&O off key songs. It's really sad when your opener steals the show.

I saw them back in 1981, they were good.

They played alongside Triumph and Legs Diamond at many a 'la Semana Allegre' in San Antonio during Fiesta week. I never missed a show! Ok, so I was seriously drunk and might not remember much, but I'm almost sure they rocked!

RIP Myles

They were big w/my crowd in southern IL in the 70's/80's. I have 3 of their albums. Want more but can't find them in FL panhandle (not a lot of used record stores around).

RIP Myles. Thanks for the memories.

Sad to hear about this. They were a staple of the crowd I hung with in high school. I remember we were always tickled by the way it sounded he was spelling out the F- word while singing "If You See Kay".

I'm sure I still have at least a couple of well worn cassettes of theirs in my archive.
