Doubtful...

I can't get in touch of the fellow that did a survey for me a few years ago and I have a question regarding the Lat/Lon notations on the property pins. More specifically, I do not understand the Lat/Lon format used.

Best regards,

Tom

Are you sure it's actual Lat/Long and not the State Plane Coordinates?

are they easting and northings? Usually a series of numbers preceded by E or N. Normally a certified survey will include the geodetic parameters used, somewhere on the drawing.

Indeed it did and the State Plane Coordinates were in fact what was listed, Northing and Easting on the Point of Beginning.

Tom sent a copy of his survey to me and I converted them over the Latitude/Longitude to help him out. I believe he's set with what he was wanting, well, as long as the given coordinates are correct which they seemed to be as it took me to the general area on Google Earth.

Not a problem at all bud and really just made my last post as Dave shed a good bit more light on things than I did with my initial response. Hopefully we got you what you were needing!

Well good to see that got settled quickly in Sig style!

So I might as well relate my good experience with a surveyor. I wasn't provided a survey of a home on ~4 acre I was in the process of buying. I only had the description in the deed so I went to the biggest surveyor company in town to ask about the cost etc thinking it might be a good idea to have one done. He said hold on and left the office and came back in about ten minuets... with a printed copy of a survey the property that his dad had done 41 earlier! He said it would only be to the standards at the time but if he were me he would just keep the copy with the deed and call it a day. Thats what I did and he didn't charge me a dime!

Some good folks still out there.

Collecting dust.
