Weber’s are a great product for sure but Napoleon steps it up.

I looked at those online. Damn they look great but I am not sure my budget allows this....

Well worth it! Buddy has one and it is an outstanding piece of equipment.
I’ll grill enough one day to justify one. Currently my Weber kettle is good enough.

Based in large part on info found in another thread here I bought a Weber Genesis 310 three burner. I bought the natural gas version which is never in stock but S&H to the house was free. Assembly was a pain in the ass. I love having the grill plumbed in to the gas service and this is my fourth.

I'm very pleased with the Weber. From edge to edge, the cooking could not be more consistent. Grease management is pretty nice with disposable foil pan. $699.00 delivered.

I would say a Prestige 665 would fit your needs plus the extra griddle (think they are offering a free accessory currently).
$1700 on Amazon. If you have a prime card knock off 5%.
That alone would be paid in 3 OT shifts around here. You already have some money budgeted towards it. So maybe 2 shifts.

Just saw one off duty gig kick out $100 an hour. Highest I have see yet and no uniform required that got snatched luckily split.

To lean a Grill Grate, either side, buy from GG, maybe Amazon, a Silicone cleaning brush. Looks like it has short fingers of silicone instead of wire bristles.
Turn on grill, let it heat to medium, and dip silicone brush into water before brushing. It’s almost like steam cleaning it. Works excellent after you get over the 35$ sticker shock of brush. Push the little scraps that don’t vaporize to rear, and clean out every month or so.
The silicone brush is worth it.

Not sure what the gig is just saw it was paying $100 an hour one time event this coming Friday only if I had to guess it would be a preDerby party of some sort.

OT is not terribly hard to come by so the Off Duty stuff has to pay a bit more. Back when OT was short off duty paid less.

Weber all the way. I've gone through several other brands and seem to always come back to Weber. They are like the Glock or the Honda of the grilling world; easy to work on and parts/accessories are plentiful and reasonable in price.

I also love my GrillGrate, flipped onto the smooth side, it makes great burgers!

As far as cleaning the GrillGrate, all you need to do is burn them off and scrape them and you are good to go. They specifically tell you NOT to put in dishwasher as they are heavy anodized aluminum and dishwasher detergents could pit/corrode them.

I bought a Napoleon stainless 4 burner with the side and rotisserie burner, pretty nice but expensive. It's maybe 4 years old now and 2 of the burner gas control knobs are bad, they work but they need replaced. Cooking temps are not even across the surface, I didn't have any of these problems with my old Ducane. I honestly don't think you should pay a premium for a Napoleon if you find something similar that is less expensive.

I've been quite happy with my Weber Genesis and Grill Grates (had cast iron grates originally). For a gas grill I don't think you can go wrong with that combination.

The latest edition to my outdoor cooking grills was a Kamado Joe - I'm really liking the food that comes off that

.

I still use the Weber when I need to make something quick, but if I have the time I'll use the Kamado Joe because it takes me 30 minutes to an hour to get up to temperature.

I am also going to recommend Weber.

I had a ~20 year old Weber Genesis Silver B (three burner) that finally gave up the ghost last year, and I replaced it with a six burner Genesis II propane fueled.

The deal I came across was too good to pass on, as it was only slightly more than the four burner model.

It is way more grill than I usually need, but damn, it is very nice to have all of that extra real estate to cook on. At the same time I can cook multiple varieties of meat, grill some veggies up, put on four or so ears of corn and warm the burger and doggie buns.

Once it is heated to cook off the previous feast in preparation for the new feast, you can throttle down a bit on the gas so you are not burning fuel like the Space Shuttle.

I did pick up a 40 lb. tank for it and have a 20 lb. as back-up.

My advice on grill size would be similar to that often spoke of here in terms of "what size gun safe should I buy?" - so go 'big' if you can swing it.

I just recently gave my 20+ year old Weber Genesis grill away, still working. Can’t say a bad thing about it
I Replaced it with a Napolean Prestige Pro 500. Its a great grill and made in Canada. The non Pro models are made in Asia as are most of the new Weber’s. My old Weber was made in the USA.

Torn between a large 4 to 5 burner gas grill (what I had) and a griddle top style. I really wish there was a combo unit that utilised the large cooking area for both features but I can't find such an item.

I am not opposed to paying more for better quality or features but don't want to spend a small fortune on a grill that will only be protected by a cover.

Just bought a Weber E315 to replace an old one. Took about an hour and a half to build and there was a pretty cool app to show you a 3D model for assembly. Works well, but the hardware definitely seems cheaper than the hardware I used 10 years ago when I built the other one.

Expect to get a good 10 years use out of this one.
