Thanks for the heads-up. I get their e-mails, but get bombarded with their "sales' notices to the point I seldom look. The one time they actually have a deal, I didn't pay attention-but this post made me go get some.

Lancer has transitioned to a Gen 2 for their L5 magazines, so various retailers like PSA are closing out the remaining Gen 1s.

The Gen 2s are intended to address two issues from the Gen 1s:

-The floorplate and internal round stacking have been redesigned to allow a fully loaded magazine to more easily be inserted on a closed bolt

-The feed lips have been redesigned to improve retention, as the Gen 1s reportedly can have a habit of losing a few rounds if a loaded magazine was dropped

Now, I've been using Gen 1 Lancers for over a decade, and haven't had a problem with either of these. So don't feel like you're getting shortchanged if you stock up on cheap Gen 1s. They're great mags, especially if you can get them for cheaper than PMAGs.

They've also pared down the available colors compared to the Gen 1s. The Gen 2s aren't being offered in the various "funky" colors like neon green, red, orange, teal, pink, purple, etc. They're just sticking to FDE, OD, black, clear, smoke, translucent tan, and translucent brown.

Not a bad deal at all.
My range mags are all Magpul because they're cheap, anything for HD/SD use are Lancers.
