So looking for something for ours to keep her warm, that is easy to put on and off. Wife has not really found anything appropriate to this point. Thoughts. Thank you

My former Schnauzer used to wear the dog equivalent of a horse blanket. Basically a semi-fitted blanket with an underbelly strap. That was very easy on/off. Similar to this:

We had something like that for our Pomeranian when she had her "summer cut." A friend of the family picked it up at Harrod's. It worked great when she had to go out in the rain.

The slip over the head sweaters, with holes for the front legs work well too.

I have used Ruffwear harness's for about 15 years. The harness's are indestructable so I would think the coats are also good.

I have had good luck with the RC Pets coats for my little chihuahua. He hates anything with sleeves and will stand frozen like Ralphie in A Christmas Story if you try to make him wear that type of coat. These just have arm holes for free range of movement and a fairly thick fleece. They are easy to velcro on and off and they hold up to washing and drying.

If you have a Home Goods, Marshalls or TJ Maxx store near you they are great places for seeing bunches of coats in person this time of year.

Best to you all!

I would post a pic of him in his coats but no longer use photo hosting.

Thanks guys. T I did know you have one. I see you are hoping for another Aussie. I will say a prayer you get one soon. I bet your Chihuahua will love them. Mine loves my healer mix. They are both females and absolutely love each other Smile.

And here I thought you were looking to make a sweater out of chihuahuas. I was going to say, man I don't like the little yappy dogs either, but that's taking it to a whole new level. Eek

Awww thank you! Yes, I have been doing some pt photography work for a local rescue for the last 5 years. And, it only took me about a half a year after I started to adopt two “littles.” They both had a chance to live with my old golden Lily before she passed and Willow too. Surprisingly they all got along quite well. And, Willow never tried to herd them. (which I was concerned about)

I appreciate the prayers. I am definitely ready for another special needs Aussie.

Hope you and your family have a blessed holiday season.
