Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.
Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.

A few weeks ago while hiking in the mountains with Mrs DF I reached into my pocket and found a drywall screw. I quickly displayed it to her and asked, "wanna screw?" She scowled and asked, "what, are you twelve?" Of course the answer needn't be uttered. I am.
On that same hike we found an uncharted lake. While circling to see what we could see, I found a dead beaver floating by the shore. Mrs DF didn't believe it was dead so she handed me a stick. Without hesitating I asked her, "you want me to poke the beaver with my stick?" Rolleyes.....
