How can a total tool like this be a college professor at a criminal justice college?

http://insider.foxnews.com/201...ollege-mike-isaacson

I'm a pretty easy going guy, but this POS makes my blood boil. His hair, his voice, the thing he says...

I'm sorry if this is a repost and vent.

I watched this character on Tucker a few nights ago. He is very practiced in verbal whack-a-mole. He doesn't say anything really but he especially doesn't say anything that you can get hold of in debate and beat him to death with, which was my emotional response arrived at in very short order.

The talking heads ought to deep-six his twitter feed, he does nothing but spew carbon dioxide.

Easy if you never leave campus to venure into the real world. It's the ultimate life goal of professional students.

If I recall correctly he is an adjunct professor working as an instructor. Cheap labor generally contracted.

A typical student may achieve a doctoral degree by the age of 26. To become a full Professor requires publications, scholarly research and the ability to play the complex politics of the University. One must first rise through the ranks of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor.

Michael Isaacson, an adjunct at John Jay College of City University of New York has been placed on leave.

whatever that means

John Jay's president, Karol Mason:

"I want to state clearly that I was shocked by these statements. They are abhorrent. This adjunct expressed personal views that are not consistent with our college’s well known and firm values and principles and my own personal standards and principles. I am appalled that anyone associated with John Jay, with our proud history of supporting law enforcement authorities, would suggest that violence against police is ever acceptable,"

Mason cited safety issues to support a decision to place Isaacson on leave. "The safety of our students, faculty and staff is our top priority. Today, members of the John Jay faculty received threats, and our students expressed concerns for their safety in the classroom," Mason said. "Out of concern for the safety of our students, faculty and staff, we are immediately placing the adjunct on administrative leave as we continue to review this matter."

******************

I looked up "adjunct professor":

Adjunct professors are hired by schools on a contractual, part-time basis as opposed to the traditional university model of full-time employment.

Adjunct professors are defined as professors who are not on the tenure track.

Intentionally provocative. In this case, the best thing would have been to ignore him. Instead, this utterly un-American fool was given a platform by Fox.

Criminals are fortunate that the police protect them from vigilantes. And that foolish fool should be thankful of the anti-dueling laws.

I would love for this POS to experience the evils in this world that the police and "rule of law" protect him from.

I hate to say the thought of placing those evils on him would be tempting, and then I remind my self I'm not that person, and I'm so glad I'm not that type of person.

So I let the hate go

Do not we want these losers to have a platform in order to expose them for the liars for which they are??

I agree that he would be the first one to call 911 as he is getting the "living shit" kicked out of him. he hides behind America's freedoms in order to show how much he hates it.

yes, we want them to have a platform in order to show what awful, weak people they are.

Signed up to take a Criminology course as an elective and had an "instructor" similar to the one being discussed here. When the round the room introductions were done I started asking him questions about his background, thinking he was really young to be teaching a course that I expected one to have a lot of life experience in order to qualify.

Nope, dude went straight through school to get his Ph.D. with no real world experience. I knew I was going to drop the class as soon as it let out. Dude's behavior during that one class I attended just reinforced my decision - lots of swearing and references to his "cop buddy" who was "a big, black guy, and a biker too" (looking at me while reiterating this more than a few times).

If you've got a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Physics, etc., and go straight from being a student to teaching, that's a valid route. For Business, Criminal Justice, and the like, if you don't have at least a few years of real-world experience, you're just a poser and always will be.
