It was a fruit flavored clear sparkling water drink very much like Clearly Canadian. I had not thought about either in years but just saw Clearly Canadian at Publix and had not seen that stuff in a long time. I am currently traveling through Appalachia and started thinking the days of drinking a nice cold Appalachian.
It was very popular in at least Southern Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia as this is where I was romping around. I was out west a bit Colorado and South Dakota at the time but do not remember it being out there.
Clearly Canadian was very popular at time as well but Appalachian was way better the fruit flavor was more real tasting and the bubbles weren’t as harsh.

I can’t even find a mention of it doing a google search.

Polar used to make a premium unsweetened, fruit infused sparkling water. Loved the stuff.

The Publix house brand isn't bad, but not as good as Polar, which no longer seems to be available in my part of Florida. La Croix is very good, 12 oz. cans. $.75 per can.

Stuff is nice, but doesn't last long. I drink water 20 oz. at a time in the Florida heat, and regularly do 120 to 140 oz. per day. I should add some sparkling water into that mix, as I won't get so bored with simple water.

Liquid Death flavored Sparkling waters are certainly the best out there these days.
Stupid names but the best flavor and just right on the bubbly not too light but not too harsh.

IDK these were being made in your timeframe, but good luck on finding someone remembering them. I even asked AI if there was a clear, carbonated soft drink that had "Appalachia", "Appalachian", or some name with some version of those words-no joy.
