That is right, this woman got so irate over having her apple juice taken from her at an airport TSA check point, that she lost it and attacked 3 agents. Two of them needed to be hospitalized. Everyone who buys a ticket on an airplane is told you can't bring liquids over 3oz through TSA checkpoints. They have signs everywhere and are constantly telling you that as you're waiting in line. On the plus side, she'll likely never have to worry about an issue at a TSA check point in her life time. https://nypost.com/2023/04/27/...ts-over-apple-juice/ A woman who injured three TSA agents at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport Tuesday reportedly attacked the trio after they took away her apple juice, according to arrest documents. Makiah Coleman, 19, grew irate and allegedly bit and hit the agents when they removed her juice at a security checkpoint shortly before 6 a.m., Fox 10 Phoenix reported. “[Coleman] was ranting and raving about the apple juice and walks around the barrier and attempts to grab the bin containing her items being screened from the TSA agent,” read the probable cause statement obtained by the outlet. She allegedly climbed over a table and whacked an agent on the head before punching and pulling the hair of a second agent. A third agent intervened to try to stop Coleman but was bitten by the crazed woman, according to the document. Two of the agents were taken to the hospital for treatment and hundreds of travelers were inconvenienced as officials shuttered the checkpoint to deal with Coleman, according to the TSA. The TSA regs are stupid. The behavior of feral passengers is even more stupid. These are both reasons that I now drive every time I travel.

Thank you Very little |
It's crazy, completely full planes with tiny seats, cramped aisles, tons of rules, add a touch of alcohol, crazy passengers that should be either in a wacky house or greyhound, what could go wrong.

I agree on your first point. I think the TSA reg on dumping drinks has a lot more to do with the fact that the 20 oz Coke you're holding cost you $1.50 on one side of TSA and $3.50 on the other side. They're worried about people holding a half consumed bottle of pop, water, juice etc., as it might have explosives in it? Easy solution, have them take a sip as they pass through. Although as you pointed out the theme of the thread is the feral behavior of some passengers. Obviously in this day and age there is still a need for the good old Night Stick. One whack on the top of the head would have probably settled this woman down quickly. I've stopped counting.

Should have tazed her ass. The injured agents should sue the shit out of her. Along with the pair of German Polizei and their MP5s. _________________________________________________________________________ “A man’s treatment of a dog is no indication of the man’s nature, but his treatment of a cat is. Exactly! Plus it adds the potential benefit of seeing some terrorist crapbag self-immolate from the inside out, lol. Total thread drift, but I actually fought a guy one time who had been drinking gasoline. His buddies dropped him off in the lobby of the local psych facility and skeedadled. The psych people called when he started raging out and puking gas up all over the place, however they failed to share the information about the gas with us. I smelled it pretty quick, and remember being down on the floor fighting with the guy and yelling "No Taser" when backup came through the door. Fun times.

You can tell from her expression in the booking photo that her elevator doesn't go all the way to the top floor. And BTW, her behavior has nothing to do with apple juice. I don't know who wrote that news article, but the word "whacked" has no place in such an item, unless it's a quote from someone, as in "Ant'ny Squilieri got to be a real problem, so they had him whacked." "Struck" is the proper term for journalistic purposes.

Just for the hell of it |
TSA has a bunch of regs that are stupid. Airports seem to bring out the crazy in people. That and people just don't know how to go through security. This lady had problems before she got to the airport. One of the reasons I have Global Entry is not only because of shorter lines but the people that go through the trouble to get it to travel enough and understand how to go through security. _____________________________________ Because in the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. My guess is that she has never not had problems.

Wait, what? |
I suspect the TSA folks wouldn’t gain anything if monetary value and would in fact lose money in the process. “Remember to get vaccinated or a vaccinated person might get sick from a virus they got vaccinated against because you’re not vaccinated.” - author unknown

The TSA is theater. The reason for the drink ban is 13 years ago a terror cell arrested in London and Pakistan was planning to blow up seven airliners in one day by bringing two separate liquids in soft drink bottles to get by security, making the bombs on board by mixing the chemicals then detonating them. The police showed a video that making a bomb like this can blow a pretty big hole in the planes. So now ever after we are stuck with 3 oz liquids on plans.

[V-Tails post] Why am I not surprised? You know things have gone to hell when Greyhound and Amtrak are a better traveling experience than flying. And, I'm certain we'll all be happy to know that her ticket was very likely paid for through the "generosity" of the American taxpayer. ________________________________________________________ "Great danger lies in the notion that we can reason with evil." Except for the miles: That's where I'm at. I used to love flying. Now I don't like going anywhere near an airport. Used to be my "break even" point was around three hours, now it's up to at least seven, if not more. Previous posters have listed why: Airlines treat passengers more like cattle than customers. Too many passengers that are completely out-of-control. (Part of the general trend toward self-importance/-interest and decline in civility.) The TSA regs are onerous. Then again: The way people behave on the road, these days, I don't like to drive, anymore, either. And I used to love driving, too. "America is at that awkward stage.
