I'm sorry but as someone with Heart Disease Bacon is permanently OFF my approved food list. BTW, it's not just the fat but also the high sodium content.

BTW, the most common cause for retained body fat is SUGAR. Start looking at nutrition labels and you'll find that a huge amount of processed foods contain SUGAR on one form or another. A very simple and effective way to drop weight is to eliminate SUGAR and Carbs that are metabolized into sugar by digestion.

So, if you substitute Bacon for Sugar that will prove to be an effective way to lose weight. However for that to work you'll have to find some Bacon that didn't used Sugar as a primary Curing component. Good luck with that, odds are you'll have to make your own bacon from scratch.

I've stopped counting.

I make my own bacon. There is about 22 grams of sugar in 5 pounds of bacon cure. That is a minuscule amount considering how much is eaten in a serving. Sodium isn’t an issue on a high fat low carb diet. In fact you need more sodium (and potassium) usually.

These go to eleven.

After my heart surgery part of the rehabilitation was guidance on Diet. The actual need for Sodium is actually much much lower than most people realize or believe. Several studies indicate that just 200mg per day is all tat is needed. As for me, I limit myself to 800 mg per day. My blood pressure is typically 110/65 when at rest. BTW yesterday was an exercise day, so I spent 46 minutes on and Elliptical Trainer and then went for a 1.5 mile jog. Temps yesterday were mid 80's and I had no issues with cramping at all.

I've stopped counting.
