Catherine Herridge leaving Fox for CBS
Unfortunate. She has done some good reporting

Disappointed in her statement:

"CBS News has always placed a premium on enterprise journalism and powerful investigations,"

"I feel privileged to join a team where facts and storytelling will always matter."

"storytelling" for sure

How will she manage to report facts in that fantasy land? Ridiculous. I thought she had integity.

That's a surprising statement on her part. CBS is almost as biased as CNN. I always thought of her as bi-partisan. Guess I was wrong.

NONE of the media outlets in this country are unbiased, in my opinion. That includes FOX. Scratch a FOX anchor and beneath the surface you'll find an entitled, "superior" elitist. Geraldo, Shep, Mike Wallace, Megyn, Napolitano, etc. If you're truly conservative, FOX will find a way to edge you out: O'Reilly, Bolling, etc.

If I want news, I'll turn to OAN. Or, if I'm online, I go offshore to France24.com, SkyNET or some such.

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

Yeah. Roll Eyes Megan Kelly thought the grass was greener too and you see how that worked out. Herridge just committed journalistic suicide. Welcome to the world of irrelevance lady.

True, we are still a capitalist society and she is getting up there in age. I just thought she had more integrity than that.

Just guessing from my end,

$$ are always a big issue

Herridge has had to compete w John Solomon and Sara Carter at Fox. At CBS she probably won't have much competition for her reporting.

and an even bigger guess, might CBS see the writing on the wall ? If the AG Barr investigations come out like we expect, CBS might be looking for someone who could report on that. Someone who hasn't been saying the opposite for the last 3 years.

I noted her reports were usually insightful and had a way of conveying the important details accurately. Good sourcing too. I'll miss both.

Little surprised she thinks CBS will allow the inconvenience of facts to appear in a narrative of opposing conservatism.

She seemed like one of the few serious journalists in America. But apparently not so.

Maybe it's an attempt by CBS to recover a little credibility? I don't think it will work, but who knows?

I would have liked to see her gone to OAN but I imagine they don't have the budget to pay her what she would like. When Catherine was reporting I listened she seemed to have the best reliable sources and excellent reporting.

Given the way things have been going at Fox recently she may have seen the writing on the wall or received pressure from the inside to vacate the premises. Who knows. I'm not giving up on her yet CBS may be just a temporary stepping stone for her. I'll give her the benefit and see if her reporting changes at CBS or if she moves on from there to a better place shortly down the road.

Certainly you recall what happened to the last, perhaps only reporter over at CBS that actually reported? Sharyl Attkisson and the Fast and Furious story?

I was amazed when she was allowed to cover it. Amazed again when she was allowed to do a follow-up story. Unsurprised when she was given the boot.

Do you seriously think a true journalist can actually do real journalism at CBS? Or any of the other legacy "news" media? If so: I've got some prime real estate in Florida to sell you.
