Can we also throw out 'Perfect'? The response I get to every answer I give to a waiter/waitress/receptionist/etc. is, "PERFECT". It doesn't matter if it's for water or tea, my last name, phone number, make of car. How on earth can they all be "PERFECT'! The first time I ever heard the term it was a Texan, Colin Edwards II, describing Valentino Rossi. That was around 20 years ago. I consider Michael Jordan the greatest basketball player, greatest team sports player, and best athlete of all time. And I agree with Colin about Valentino. Now they just throw it around all the time. And people call LeQuit James that Fuck outta here, not even in the top 10. Glazers (Gen Z) use it all the time as they “glaze” over everything that happened before their time. If it didn’t happen in their lifetime, it doesn’t count and doesn’t exist. What am I doing? As a founding member of a local charity, a younger volunteer introduced me as goat to a new volunteer. I was dumbfounded as I don't do anything exceptional. I think it is a way younger folks express a thought. They don't know how to use a thesaurus. It is a dumbing down or becoming lazy to only using one expression for everything. Then gets overused, losing it's meaning. | |||
