Can we also throw out 'Perfect'? The response I get to every answer I give to a waiter/waitress/receptionist/etc. is, "PERFECT". It doesn't matter if it's for water or tea, my last name, phone number, make of car. How on earth can they all be "PERFECT'! Maybe I should start misspelling my name, transposing numbers, or changing my order to milk. "Cedat Fortuna Peritis"

I’m going to try out “extra neato” today and see how it flies I had a brother who was a motorhead and yes, goat meant GTO. That and mopar were words tossed around a lot. Seems like forever ago. __________________________ "Trust, but verify."

It's one thing if that label gets tossed at you. If you declare it yourself you define arrogant. The first time I ever heard the term it was a Texan, Colin Edwards II, describing Valentino Rossi. That was around 20 years ago. I consider Michael Jordan the greatest basketball player, greatest team sports player, and best athlete of all time. And I agree with Colin about Valentino. Now they just throw it around all the time. And people call LeQuit James that Fuck outta here, not even in the top 10. Glazers (Gen Z) use it all the time as they “glaze” over everything that happened before their time. If it didn’t happen in their lifetime, it doesn’t count and doesn’t exist. What am I doing? I remember some people called the 2004-2006 version of the GTO the goat as well. I wanted one of those. Big V8, small brakes, 6 speed manual. What's not to like? _____________

As a founding member of a local charity, a younger volunteer introduced me as goat to a new volunteer. I was dumbfounded as I don't do anything exceptional. I think it is a way younger folks express a thought. They don't know how to use a thesaurus. It is a dumbing down or becoming lazy to only using one expression for everything. Then gets overused, losing it's meaning.

FEAR THE GOAT! "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

I am also reminded of Charlie Brown by the term. The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

Official definition from the West Point Bugle Notes, 1972 edition: GOAT, n., A man in the lower sections. A man near the bottom of his class. _________________________________________________________________________ “A man’s treatment of a dog is no indication of the man’s nature, but his treatment of a cat is. It is the crucial test. None but the humane treat a cat well.” -- Mark Twain, 1902

I'm with you on that. While we're at it can we add "on steroids" to the list? Which is still being abused to describe anything overblown. "We're all travelers in this world. From the sweet grass to the packing house. Birth 'til death. We travel between the eternities."
