I enjoyed watching him over the years. Everything from the Great Escape to the Man from U.N.C.L.E. to NCIS.

David McCallum, star of hit TV series 'The Man From U.N.C.L.E.' and 'NCIS,' dies at 90

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Actor David McCallum, who became a teen heartthrob in the hit series "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." in the 1960s and was the eccentric medical examiner in the popular "NCIS" 40 years later, has died. He was 90.

McCallum died Monday of natural causes surrounded by family at New York Presbyterian Hospital, CBS said in a statement.

90 years is a good run to be on this earth.

I figured this was coming sooner or later they had essentially written him out of NCIS the past few seasons, and when you did see him, he did not look or sound good, and his role was very very limited.

Wow. And he's still been in an episode in the latest season. I've binge watch the latest season for nothing better to do.

I liked his NCIS character. I vaguely remember him in the Man from U.N.C.L.E. series and I wasn't a fan since I was still into cartoons then. And probably what I saw were reruns.

in any case, Rest In Peace. That's one of the few actors that I do feel some sadness in their passing.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I liked Illya Kuriakin (spelling?) as much as I hated Napoleon Solo’s guts.

Loved “Ducky” in NCIS. RIP David. Thank you for the good times.

As many sites have said, he was the consummate professional, but still able to joke with others. Highly respected.

He was a US citizen for many years - he was quoted as saying "I feel it's a person's duty to participate in the governing of the country in which he lives".

HIs family has requested donations to the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation instead of flowers.

All around, a classic act from a classical background.
