DaBigBRAnyone else think we should be done "talking" with N. Korea?
This has the makings of something off another cold war. Big talk and brinkmanship. Except I trust Kim less than any of the Russians.

springnrNKR's multi-generational practice of strong arming the world for protection money. Is illuminated on the world stage, then Trump addresses the UN. This also shines a light on the effectiveness of the UN.
Two birds one stone?

No, they don't. And he's been clear about what he really wants. He has been saying, consistently, that he wants to destroy the US with nuclear missiles. And step by step he gets closer by the month. Last month, he detonated a hydrogen bomb. A couple of weeks ago, one of his ICBMs flew over and well beyond Japan . With every success, he repeats that his goal is to hit the US mainland with nuclear missiles.
Know what I think? I think he plans to hit the US mainland with nuclear missiles. It is often hard to understand that someone might have plans that we regard as irrational, even psychotic. But the man who says he wants to hit the US with nuclear missiles also believes that he is a god. And his people-- worship him. Is that irrational? Psychotic?
If we make it our highest priority to take him out-- him personally, not destroy NKorea-- I believe we can do it. Or, more likely, have it done.
It is not unlike Iran threatening to wipe Israel from the face of the earth and actively working toward that goal. Most, if not all, here would like to see Israel take out Iran yesterday. Yet, NK is somehow different.

Il CattivoNo, I think most here would like to see North Korea taken out yesterday, too. The thing is, we haven't done much to stop the Iranians yet, either.

This is true. But, I will bet the Israelis don't worry about our own air force shooting at them any more...

CNYTX11Let both Japan and SK develop nuke tipped cruise missiles for their submarines. Credible second strike ability.
Lift any and all restrictions on Japanese and SK warhead size and range on their missile inventories in response to NK belligerence.
MAd wroked for US - USSR for decades .... bet it makes Kimmy Uno sweat a bit too.

Il CattivoThat might do some interesting things to attitudes in the People's Republic of China as well.
Hmm. Maybe Japan, South Korea and the Republic of China on Taiwan?

Pat@NexusI personally am tired of Trump continuing to trash talk with no action. I am at the point of either shut up or act.
Then again, cool heads won the day during the Cuban Missile Crisis............
