Sixty Minutes reporter calls it like she sees it. I’m not sure what brought this on since I don’t often watch their show but nice to see anyway.
Unless she’s got a job lined up at Fox, she may not be seen much for a while.

I'd forgotten Ritland has a podcast...I'll have to check it out. His guest appearances on SOFREP/NEWSREP are always interesting given his no-BS, straight talk.

Logan, has lived quite a life as a journo. She was the CBS journalist that was sexually assaulted by at the crowd in Cairo trying to cover the Arab Spring/anti-Mubarak rallies. You'd have thought that incident would've 'woken' up those lefties giving cover to Islam and its lack of modernity. Logan was also rather active in bedding certain serviceman while in Afghanistan. Cool

I’d like to think this will get traction, but it would take the same biased news agencies to spread the word.

She will be ok, just like Sharyl Attkisson, who is doing just fine.

^^ I hope so Q, we need to have good and differing sources for news. Hard right or left that just play the party line isn’t healthy.
Some people will do the hard work to search for the real truth but they seem to be a small minority today.
The polarization of public opinion today seems to be directly related to most people just reading the headlines and no further and becoming part of the echo chamber.

Bernard Goldberg left CBS for pretty much the same reason. He used to show up on FOXNews now and then but I have not seen him in a while. Lara Logan may well wind up the same way. A shame really.

Maybe she's rethinking the price she's paid to be part of the club. That assault is surely not the only dignity and self-respect she's given up to be a member. Good to hear she's seeing some truths, sounds like my definition of "woke".

I wasn't talking about one person, like a scientist, telling another fellow scientist what should be obvious. This is a person who has been part of the hoax coming out and exposing it for what it is, to people that either weren't paying attention or wouldn't believe what they were seeing. Kind of like Al Gore saying I believed it at first, then I did it for the money, but it really isn't true.
I know she is a small part of the media, not as prominent as a larger figure but will this keep happening more frequently as time goes forward. Is the dam starting to crack if not break?

I'd like it to a climate scientist who has been paid by governments trying to convince people that we are SOLELY responsible for climate change, only to walk away and say the data is flawed, and scientist are being paid and continue to be paid to say the world is going to end to continue the lie. It is the self serving realizing that your responsibility is to provide truth and knowledge, and waking up one day knowing they perpetuate the lie.

I've always liked Lara Logan, and while I only made it 106 minutes into the interview, it was great, almost like a book, and Mike did a great job getting her to open up about life in Afghanistan. I don't think most people realize the shit she went through to bring us news, and how hard it really was to peel back the skin of events there. I also appreciated her take on life in the US vs other places.

While her viewpoint is based in facts, the mainstream media has always been Leftist/Liberal. Many books have been written on the subject and even the former head of NPR has discussed the phenomena openly.

I don't think she's a far-lefty or a "member of the club". I've watch significant portions of that video, and read about her. She sounds politically neutral (I believe she says something to that effect in the video). She's a foreign correspondent, not a political reporter. Her current husband is an ex-soldier from Texas. I think he may be a "contractor". I'm pretty sure she's living in Texas (where the interview was recorded). She's good friends with the interviewer in the video and he's an former Navy SEAL.

quote:
About Her Husband - NYT Piece:
And she had formed a close friendship with Joseph Burkett, a soldier originally from Texas, with a young daughter, Ashley (now 7).

“I knew him for about six years before we got together,” she says of Burkett. “He had a very secretive job, and I always respected that. I know tons of people in that world, and I never ask them questions because it’s a violation right there.

Comments on Gen. McChrystal's fireing - Wikipedia: Lara Logan
Logan was criticized in June 2010 for her remarks about another journalist, Michael Hastings, and her view that reporters who embed with the military ought not to write about the general banter they hear. An article by Hastings in Rolling Stone that month quoted General Stanley A. McChrystal and his staff—comments Hastings overheard while traveling with McChrystal—criticizing U.S. Vice-President Joe Biden and other officials, after which President Obama fired McChrystal as his commander in Afghanistan. Logan told CNN that Hastings' reporting had violated an unspoken agreement between reporters who travel with military personnel not to report casual comments that pass between them.

Quoting her statement, "I mean, the question is, really, is what General McChrystal and his aides are doing so egregious, that they deserved to end a career like McChrystal's? I mean, Michael Hastings has never served his country the way McChrystal has."

ETA: She does live in Texas.

Interview in "The Star" (May 4, 2017)
A year and a half ago you cut back on your hours at 60 Minutes and moved from Washington D.C. to Texas. Why?

I looked at my children — my son is dyslexic — and realized I needed to be there. I cut back and moved to Texas, because my husband is from there and I wanted to be with family. It’s the greatest thing in the world to live in a beautiful tiny town in the hill country and still do this job.

I love her honesty. She stated “85% of journalists are registered Democrats”. Something to ponder...

Just found this thread.
I saw her new series entitled "Lara Logan No Agenda". At least it is new to me. Last night on Fox Business it was about the socialist movement in America, specifically the DSA. I knew many of the agitators in the recent riots were members of some anarchist group but it was pretty well spelled out in this episode.

She was embedded with my unit in Iraq for a 60 minutes episode in 2005. Seemed like a pretty straight shooter then.

Ritland's podcast where he has operators from various backgrounds on for one on one talks are my favorite. He also does some more lately on his dog training life.
