Need advice on dealing with this company. Very nasty customer service and threatening legal action and ruin credit. In short unauthorized billing of a service NEVER requested. Some type of yellow pages advertising. Offshoot apparently of ATT. We did have yellow pages billed through ATT for years. We cancelled that years ago, due to obvious business reasons. They are insistent on there being a signed agreement. There is none. They then threatened to subpoena records etc. In short, what is best method of complaint?

Those DexYP people are big time scam artists. They tried that exact same shit with the shop where I used to work. They try to bully businesses into paying for service that was never requested. Sometimes it works for them, I guess. The boss told them to pound sand, nothing came of it.

Ask for copy of alleged agreement. If they can not produce it tell them to pound sand. Joe Walsh, President/CEO PO Box 619810 Dallas TX 75261-9810 (844) 339-6334 BBB shows 895 Customer Complaints.

In addition to the rest of it I used to also manage the phone system, TelCom contracts, etc. at work. All IT- and TelCom-related invoices had to go through me before being passed on to Accounting. For a while I was regularly seeing bogus charges like that on our AT&T bills and I'd have to jump through hoops to get them removed. Finally, one day, I'd had enough. I called AT&T and told them to make it stop. "We have no way of doing that." "Find one," I replied, "because going forward I will instruct our Accounts Payable Dept. to pay all invoices less such charges. I'm not going through this with you any more." Miraculously, the bogus charges never appeared again. Huh. Scammers tried this one on us, too: They send your company a check for some small amount. In the fine print it says something like "Cashing this check constitutes a contractual agreement for such-and-such service(s)." What they hope will happen is somebody, not reading the fine print, will add it to the pile of checks to go to the bank for deposit. Our Receivables people would get those things and, upon not finding an open receivable to which to credit it, bring them to me. I'd point out what they were and they'd go into the shredder instead of the bank. ISTR my wife and I even receiving a similar scam check here at home. "America is at that awkward stage. ^^^^ Thanks. I knew you would know from the help you gave me before with my ATT issues. Sigforum is GREAT! I knew it was a scam but my wife was continuing to blow her stack at me and customer service. This should help calm the domestic waters. Thanks to all the other members who posted as well. BTW I remember and value the help you gave me three years ago with an internet issue.

You're welcome, but I don't know if either of what I've experienced applies to your situation. Thing is: If y'all received one of those scam checks, and cashed it, well... IANAL, so I don't know if what they're doing constitutes a valid contract. I agree with what a couple of the others are saying: Demand to see a copy of the contract you allegedly signed.
Again, you're welcome, but I have to be honest: I do not recall that. Glad I was able to help, though "America is at that awkward stage.
