I would dismiss all charges, immediately release everyone, and provide each person at a minimum $2200 a month, non-taxable for every month detained, any legal fees incurred.

And then figure out how to select as non-biased as possible, a committee to determine who and how to charge, all those that are culpable in this fiasco.

Anyone found guilty on merit, should be banned from ever holding any office of public trust.

Perhaps, when Wal-Mart shit cans self checkouts for good, some of these people may apply for those jobs.

The ones who actually damaged property should be - and were - prosecuted. But the punishments being handed out are grossly disproportionate to the crime, worse when you see all the actual rioters from just a few months before who got nothing, not even arrested.
