I bought a new Seiko SKX-007 last August, and since then, it's stopped 3 times. I wear the watch every day, and take it off at night. The 3 times it's stopped have been at night. I work on a computer all day, so maybe I'm not moving my hands enough to wind the spring? Or does it sound like something may be wrong with the movement? Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice - pull down your pants and slide on the ice. ʘ ͜ʖ ʘ | ||

It’s not an uncommon problem if you search the watch forums. Give it the Seiko shake for about a minute before setting it down at night. Same before putting it on in the morning. I think the power reserve claim for the 7s26 movement is overstated. I have a 007 that has a greater reserve than a 009 so it probably varies from watch to watch. | |||

I wear mine all the time unless I’m doing something that might damage it, like driving tee-posts. When I put on one of my beater watches for a day, my 007 runs 10-12 hours, at least. | |||

I have a vintage Seiko 7002 diver that does the same thing but it needs to be serviced and cleaned BADLY. As others recommended try giving it a nice shake for about 1-2 min before you go to bed and when you wake up. How good is the watches accuracy? The 7S26 is more accurate when fully wound, it least in my experience they are. It shouldn’t take much movement to keep the 7S26 going. My watches with that movement have all been great, it’s the dang vintage Seiko watches that give me issues. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The price of liberty and even of common humanity is eternal vigilance | |||

Sounds like a lack of activity. I have a couple of Seiko's with that same movement and they tend to have very short duration of power reserve unless worn a lot when I'm active. 12-16 hours sounds about normal for that movement on a low activity day. Every automatic watch I have, I wind up a bit before weraring to build up a reserve. A good 20-30 winds should set you up for daily wear. | |||

I've posted several negative reviews of my own 007 Seiko, enough that even I think I must be a hater. In reality, I even sent mine back to Seiko and paid them to adjust it, and it's never run right. Still have it in my drawer at home, if anyone wants a deal on a totally unreliable watch..... Everyone gets a lemon every once in a while.
