Where to sell large quantity of auto parts? Login/Join

I hope this is OK to post, if not, please delete. I am not intending to sell on the forum. I am just looking for a place that will buy a large quantity of auto parts. New in box, etc. Are there online places that buy in bulk?
Background: closing doors on a business that hasn’t officially operated in years.
I’m not interested in selling piece by piece, I just want the whole lot to go. Suggestions on where would I look for a buyer?
Thanks for any advice.

if you have a smaller non affiliated repair shop near you that would be a possibility.

I’ll try that, thank you! I think my dad might’ve exhausted the local possibilities, but it never hurts to try.

I think you'll have a hard time with that. I can't see anyone wanting to buy a pallet of parts just to get the one(s) they want.

If one of the local high schools has an auto shop you might talk with them. Might end up being more of a donation. But the might have a budget for purchasing some items as well. Help the next generation of mechanics might be a good deal. Smile

I was a school board rep to our local vo-tech school. That sounds like a great idea.

What kind of parts are we talking about? Are they specialized in any way; Vehicle brand or model focused? Parts for classic/collectable antique cars or just regular cars? Parts for American, European or Japanese cars? OE or performance parts? Type specific, such as chassis/suspension parts, engine related such as induction/fuel delivery, exhaust, electrical, etc? General maintenance & repair, or simply a bit of everything? This info might help in finding a potential buyer, or pointing you in the right direction to someone, or some group that can.

Email sent this morning for details.

I may be able to help.
I know several sources who make buyouts and acquisitions of such stock/inventory.

I appreciate all the thoughts. The Votech is a great idea and I think it might brighten my dad up to think that he was helping to teach a new generation.
Sigmonkey, I saw your email and responded. Sorry it took a bit longer to get back to you. I had an emergency today that I had to address. I’m not trying to sell auto stuff on this gun forum, which is why I’m being a little vague, but I really hope that if any of you have ideas on a bulk distributor, you might chime in.

I absolutely understand that there are people that just want one specific thing, but I also know that we’ve had whole cars hauled off our property just for one part, and frankly, it was worth it. I also know there are auctions where they will put one prize piece in the middle of some junk and whoever gets that bid has to take it all regardless.
These items aren't junk. It all has value, but must be for the right person, and I don’t want to waste my time trying to find each individual to suit each part.
That’s where I’m hoping the brain trust here might be able to help.
Thanks again for the input thus far.
