Freaking awesome!

And not to worry, Whites are (normally) ambush hunters, they come in hard/fast and usually from underneath. So, if you see it, it has no interest.

You cannot imagine how big those suckers look in the water, in '05 i was in the water with a 15-18 footer and it looked like a school bus!

I wonder if it is that way so it breaks up the solid black of the wetsuit to reduce the possibility of being mistaken for a seal/sea lion.

Shark lady will likely follow in the footsteps of the Bearman in AK. Only a matter of time.

Beautiful pics, but insane to get into the water with all those sharks and "pet" them.

Yeah...I don't think so.

That's one of at least a couple of fairly new designs out of Australia. It is designed to make divers less visually stimulating to sharks. In this case, it is supposed to make the diver blend more in the water.

They also have a black and white banded version that is supposed to simulate the markings of the highly venomous sea snake.

I don't know how proven the concepts are.

No, no you're not....

But we definitely need to tell Angus the Kid to Google her. Then I think he'd be OK with her name. Wink

She is a mermaid, no doubt. And too lovely to be cavorting with sharks!

That would be an amazing encounter. I don't think I would ever free dive with that monster without a VERY sturdy cage.

So as to make you more attractive to other highly venomous sea snakes, you mean? Eek

The photo that shows the shark's back is the one that makes it look the biggest. I wonder if she positioned herself well below the shark in order to make it look bigger. . .

She seems to be an 'internet personality,' so she is likely getting a LOT of hits because of this encounter. It also makes me think they tracked the shark down just for this photo op (whereas the article implies it was a chance encounter).
