thanks

Dilution is the solution. If the tank is less than half full, fill it and run it. If full, see if you can siphon a portion out and fill with fresh gas. If the motor is running fine, that is all you should need to do.

Always use Clear gas and/or fuel stabilizer in the off road equipment.

There may be a fuel injector cleaner you can add to the fuel, but don’t know what they are called anymore.

Best is fresh, marine grade mid octane non-ethanol fuel. some will say seafoam is good but it is really just naphtha (lighter fluid). this is 40 plus years of off-road riding and wrenching on bikes, quads, buggy, wave runners and trucks.

Personally, any gas that has sat in the tank for 6 months or longer on my bike gets siphoned out and dumped into one of my trucks at the next fill up. Perhaps overkill but I like my FJR running at peak power and efficiency.

Any fuel used with a small engine like a mower, chain saw, etc gets an additive to protect from the potential damage caused by ethanol laden gas.

Drain tank of any old gas and replace with fresh NON_ETHENOL gas and fuel stabilizer and after running motor for a decent time then add fresh gas to top off the tank. Also check out any and all fuel lines (especially rubber) , filters and fittings/connections to verify that they are in servicable condition ....................................... drill sgt.

I should have clarified fellas, the tank was ALMOST empty when I picked it up, I added new 93 octane fuel to top it off , I was more asking about it what additive would help with gummed up lines or whatever

thanks, shawn

I run this stuff in my Can Am. It hasn’t sat for several years, but I add it to regular 87 octane each fill up.

I use Seafoam in the tank at the beginning of Fall and Spring, and Stabil in the gas cans. Premium gas only.

If it’s running fine, I wouldn’t do anything.

When things are gummed up, they run poorly.

Im a little late to this but for something that has sat I use a healthy dose of Berrymans B12 then Seafoam in following tanks full.

StarTron is a really good fuel stabilizer. Seen it keep 5 year old fuel still good. Redline, Techron and BG44K are fantastic fuel system cleaners.
