Danny Jansen, playing for the Blue Jays, played the Boston Red Sox on June 26th.
The game got suspended due to rain.
Jansen was traded to Boston on July 27th.
They will resume the suspended game tomorrow, August 26th.

Danny Jansen will make MLB history being the only player ever to play for both teams in the same game.

Surely, there are conflict of interest issues here and he'll only play for one of the teams, right?

I doubt it. Danny didn't know he was going to be traded. That happened a month later.

There have been minor league players pulled out of the field during games as they were traded.

I think the key here is that the game started on one day, and due to rain finishes on another day. I'll guess there are roster rules that would prevent a Blue Jay player standing on base, being pulled out of the game as he was just traded to the Red Sox, walking into their dug out, and emerging in the for a later inning in their uniform for an at bat.

This is within the rules
To be clear, Jansen playing for both the Blue Jays and Red Sox in the same game is within the rules. The Red Sox aren't stepping outside the rules nor is this some half-baked idea that sounds cool but isn't actually legal. MLB Rule 7.02(h) covers substitutions for suspended games. Emphasis mine:

A suspended game shall be resumed at the exact point of suspension of the original game. The completion of a suspended game is a continuation of the original game. The lineup and batting order of both teams shall be exactly the same as the lineup and batting order at the moment of suspension, subject to the rules governing substitution. Any player may be replaced by a player who had not been in the game prior to the suspension. No player removed before the suspension may be returned to the lineup. A player who was not with the Club when the game was suspended may be used as a substitute, even if he has taken the place of a player no longer with the Club who would not have been eligible because he had been removed from the lineup before the game was suspended.
The rule is clear. Because Jansen was not with the Red Sox when the game was originally suspended on June 26, he is eligible to be substituted into the game when it resumes Monday. It does not matter that he was in the opposing team's lineup. Jansen playing for both the Blue Jays and Red Sox in this game is completely within the rules.

Well…he already did!
Now he’s going to play for the other team.

If I recall correctly, he's not only playing for both teams in the same game, he's also catching for the out where he was at bat!

I know he was on deck when the game was called for rain, but I don't know if he was recorded as being "at bat" before the decision was made.

I shall respect you until you open your mouth, from that point on, you must earn it yourself.

I'm a little suprised that this hasn't happened before.

It would be even more delicious if Danny were a pitcher and got both the win and the loss in the same game! What were his stats before the game was suspended? Hitting a homer in both halves would be almost as nice.
