I came down with a chest cold Tuesday and took some OTC medicines. Went to bed after laying around most of the day. Could not get warm even though I had the wood stove cranking and it was 75 in the house.
I woke up Wednesday morning and my right eye lid would not work.
I went to the local clinic with my daughter today and got checked out. She has the flu and they gave me the same script, but sent me to an eye Dr. He checked out my eye and said eye sight checked out good. Recommended I go see my regular Doc to see if it was Bells Palsey. I see a PA and he didn't think it was bells, but really couldn't tell me what it was that caused it.
So three doctors later still no answers.
My daughter has bells as result of pregnancy and her eye would not close. My doesn't want to open.

Bells Palsy is not difficult to diagnose. Did you see an M.D?

It sucks to be in your condition where the people who should know what’s wrong with you can’t give you the answer. I had a specialist who couldn’t or wouldn’t tell me one way or the other whether I had lung cancer. He just wanted to see me every six months to monitor it. Screw him.

I live daily with this from extreme neurological damage from and brain aneurysm rupture and stroke from the bleed and repair. My left eye is perfectly healthy but damaged neurologically. After seeing my ophthalmologist many times and various treatments to include restasis treatments, silicone implants in the tear duct, etc, and finally sent to the Bask and Palmer Eye Clinic to a neuro ophthalmologist where he confirmed the eye is perfectly healthy but I've neurologic damage from the bleed and repair.

These days I just live with it albeit some really difficult days at times. I was relegated to pain management clinic treatment for 24hr doses of morphine and other opioids for several years but I just couldn't live like that day to day and eventually went cold turkey to free myself from the drugs.

I'd agree with Rey's comments, I haven't any answers as the eye is perfectly healthy, just screwed signals in my brain from the damage and repair. When it gets to the unbearable point, I've put a plastic coke bottle filled with water in the refrigerator and just presss it to my eye for a pain distraction. I've learned as many others from age and health related situations to learn ways to cope. Nothing is going to miraculously change barring a miracle which I pray daily and hold fast to the hope that it can happen. People do get miracles and I have faith.

I hope that your situation gets some resolution rexles, I'll send a prayer your way as I've had a similar walk in your shoes and it can be frustrating. The recent thread I read with those who suffer from ear and hearing loss comes to mind as to what others endure, and the heart breaking cancer threads. Life just tosses stuff at us.

That does take care of the double vision, but makes it hard to see.

The PA I see said he was pretty sure it wasn't bells. The only thing affected is my eye lid. My daughter has bells and it affects her whole side of her face.
Happily it is a little better today but still not normal.

thanks for the prayers and I will pray for you as well.
I have a good friend who has had vison trouble in his left eye for a yr now. Had silicone injections and all sorts of nasty things, beside MD incompetence. He is pretty bummed over it all.
The eyelid would open further today that yesterday so I may be on the mend.

I understand that your condition is improving. I would suggest your best option would be to see an ENT physician for proper diagnosis. These sorts of things have a tendency to recur. There are tests to determine whether the problem is neurological or muscular in nature.
