I'm not a musician. The strap on my wife's ukulele keeps coming off the back end. Why they don't make a more robust design after all these years is beyond me.

Anyway, will these work on a ukulele? What's generally recommended?

I don't have any problems with mine. Those look like they'd help a lot.

I use the Schaller ones on my guitars. Works wonderfully.

Any reason why they wouldn’t work on a uke?

I use the Schaller strap locks you listed on all my guitars. Except the Les Paul because I haven't gotten around to getting a set.

A far simpler solution exists. A lock that fits over the standard peg after the strap is placed on the instrument works for me. Google search did not find but a guitar center employee will. These are simple plastic disks with a quarter turn feature. Maybe $3. No change to instrument.

You're probably thinking of Dunlop 7036 plastic strap locks. I find the Schallers to be far spirit and they are a completely reversible modification. The Dunlops are cheap so no harm trying them though. Or get a bread bag clip.

I've sliced new positions on leather straps to make them fit more tightly over the guitar button. A uke is so light, I'd probably make a strap out of a piece of rawhide, like I have for the mando.

I like these: operated with a pip-pin.

Thanks guys. Ordered the Schaller for now. Hopefully I get authentic and not fakes.

My solution is to buy some Grolsch in sling top bottle. Drink said Grolsch. Remove red seal from Grolsch bottle. Seal guitar strap in place with red seal.

Done

This is the best solution without installing hardware strap locks.
