If so, what make / model? Do you use it when wearing glasses? And if you would, please share your overall opinion of it.

I ask because my Android phone of nearly 4 years when nuts with irreparable network errors causing me to pick up a new phone. The new one is just slightly larger (6.5" screen) but I've encased it in one of those Mil-Spec drop proof cases (mine is the Poetic Revolution) which makes it both a handful and significantly heavier. My FoneLeash (https://www.foneleash.com/) doesn't fit this case as the strap is wider than the speaker cut out. So safeguarding it in a pocket rather than fumbling with it by using a Bluetooth earpiece makes sense to me.

So I hauled out my Plantronics M20 that I bought back in 2012 Eek and stored for most of the years since as I had found I routinely used the phone speaker in the past. It charged up just fine and everything functioned as it should. I'm finding it quite convenient.

It sports Bluetooth v3.0, 11 hours talk time, and 16 days standby. Weighs 11.5 grams. Pairs nicely with my new phones Bluetooth v5.0. And has excellent sound for both me and those with whom I call.

That said it has no noise cancelling technology and isn't as light as newer offerings. I'm considering upgrading, hence this thread. Big Grin

Erm....

No.

That technology is really quite dated now.

You are better off finding a pair of wireless earbuds that suits your needs.

My wife and I both use the Samsung galaxy buds plus. They're were $150 a pair, but they have a newer version out now (pro). We have Samsung phones, so they integrate very nicely. I can typically wear mine for 8-10 hours in a day, with little discomfort. My wife finds she gets a headache after about 2 hours. They have a feature to amplify sound around you, or deaden it. Very useful, quick press of the right ear for 2 seconds turns it off and on. Take calls, connect to your TV or computer...in addition to your phone. My wife and I can both connect to one phone, so we can both listen to the same audio book.

I occasionally sleep with mine in (usually one ear) because listening to an audiobook helps me to sleep. We both suffer from tinitis and these buds seem to help mask and cover it up.

If you have an apple phone, you may want to do the apple version though. I'm not sure how well they cross over. I also have not found lesser models of the Samsung versions to be worth the money.

Just my experience. I've got one bud that after about 2 years won't hold a charge for as long as the other one, but I still get 6+ hours out of it. I like that the case is a battery which can charge 2-3 times without plugging into a wall. I wear them when I work, a lot.

When I wore a single ear piece, I used Plantronics. But I did find them to hurt my ear on the inside and outside with the hook. Haven't had a need for one as I drank more of the Apple kool aid and went with their ear pods. Bunch of different makers make ear pods. Personally I find them to be less cumbersome and painful than the single ear pieces.

I used to wear one for work which would sync to both my personal iPhone and work iPhone. Couldn't use it at once but whichever phone you were on a call with would pick up the ear piece.

After some reading it appears that the dual earbuds are optimized for music and not phone calls given their generally inferior microphones compared to the "old school" single ear headsets. At least this looks to be a valid assumption for the other than high costs offerings which I am not interested in. And I have quite decent wired audiophile headphones and earphones so that box is checked already.

I guess I'll continue to milk my old Plantronics M20 while I search for a modern single ear headset upgrade for use with my android smartphone.

Bald1, my gal has been using a Plantronics Voyager single-ear setup (Amazon link) for a couple of years now with great success. It may be worth considering as an upgrade to your M20.

It is. The Plantronics Voyager Legend is the best BT earpiece I’ve ever used. Been very happy with mine for several years now.

I know that Plantronics model has been one of their best in recent years. That said it is old technology like my M20 with just Bluetooth v3.0. Yes it has more bells and whistles than my current Plantronics but that said it is hard for me to justify the Voyager as an upgrade.

Ideally I'd be looking at Bluetooth 5.0 or even 5.2. (My phone is v5.0.) Noise cancelling with CVC 6.0, 8.0, or equivalent. Build quality. Comfort. Good battery life. And a solid warranty. All without breaking the bank.
For this I might need a lot of pixie dust spread around! LoLoLoLoLoL

I still have one of those single BT thingies. It sucks big time!
Originally bought to use with my Xbox 360 (it´s Battlefield or Call of Duty themed) and supposed to also work with a PC which it does.

Also am quite happy with the Galaxy Buds +. Mics do a decent job. No noise canceling on them.

Bob, check out the Aeropex bu Aftershokz. These are headphones that conduct sound through the bone. So nothing in your ear hole. Situational awareness is still in tact. You can converse with someone while music is playing (it’s like background music).
Call quality is fantastic. Music quality is really good. Ability to hear what is going on around you, excellent.

I have a pair and I love them. Most functional and useful headphones I have ever had. If you’re in an environment where you don’t want to hear what’s going on around you (like an airplane), you can use a couple foam earplugs. I’ve never had the need as of yet, and I have had these since Christmas.

My favorite for years has been the Jabra Supreme. I've been through about 6 of them. They are no longer available.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a suitable replacement, either single-ear or both. I listen to podcasts and make phone calls, and each of the ones I've tried isn't loud enough for one purpose or the other. And I prefer the over ear hook like the one pictured in the OP.

Phone's ringing, Dude.

Another forum member put me on to Jabra Elite. Headphone that you can wear with glasses all day long. Pairs well with my Iphone. You get what you pay for.

+2 on Beancookers advice for the Aeropex Aftershox.
8 hours of talk time, excellent product.
I've tried several of the earbud type products, mostly in the mid to higher price range. They all suck in comparison.

Plantronics Voyager Legend stays in one vehicle without a modern radio. Works fine.
