I went to Sturgis one time about 15 years ago. A supplier of mine invited me to go in their group. They had an RV the size of a bus, like a 4 star hotel inside. Everything was loaded in the rv, food and beds included and all we had to do was ride, didn't want for anything. It was freaking great. From what I saw there is absolutely no way anyone will go there to cause trouble. Because trouble is easily found.

I rode to Sturgus three (3) different years. What a great ride with wonderful scenery. A lot of bikers and beer.....what's not to like??

I promise you if you are looking for trouble, you will have no problem finding it there......likely way more than you bargained for.

This is horrible. If you're in large groups you must be protesting for justice or the rona is gonna get you.

All this noise about Sturgis being a hotbed for trouble is plain BS. The average age of the bikers coming here is older than you might think. Their professions too... doctors, lawyers, executives, along with great blue collar folks. The few who do stupid things like playing with drugs, DUI, sex trade, etc. find the LEOs and Courts wield a big hammer with long sentences and big fines. All that said they, as a group, are here to have fun and will NOT put up with nonsense.

If Antifa or BLM asshats are stupid enough to show up they'll rue the day between the "greeting" the bikers and the Law will give them.

Went in 2006 and 2009 and actually enjoyed the ride to/from just as much, if not more, than the few days at Sturgis. I'm off my bike now but those rides and others are missed.

I rode to Sturgis from the Oregon coast in 1991 and 1992. Most are normal people that love to ride, but mess with the wrong biker and you could be in bad shape afterwards. Just the right people to put those protesters and rioters in their place. No mercy for those idiots.

I lived on the outskirts of Nebraska in the late 80’s. I’d see a lot of bikers heading to Sturgis when I’d be riding my dirt bike on country roads. They always waved, gave me the “Thumbs Up”.

My first and only introduction to Sturgis was in 1989. It was an eye opening experience for a 16y/o kid. And the Buffalo Chip was something you wanted to avoid at all costs.

It’s not as notorious as it was in the early years. Basically Spring Break for grownups now. I recall in 1990, a biker was caught in a home invasion, jumped through a window with a samurai sword, and met his demise when two cops did a mag dump on him. The good old days of yore...

I did Sturgis back '79-'86 as well as Daytona and Laconia.
Those were total different times.
Being non-patched was really great as the Clubs that members were friends welcomed me as a Brother.
My patch on my rag was the 4TH Inf. Division Ivy, rocker was 1/19th FA.
Vets knew and non-vets learned .
Still got the rag, been 15 years since I sold my '48 Pan.

I’m glad to see they didn’t cancel it. We have a rather large vintage moto gathering every fall in my neck of the woods. So far my favorite local motorcycle event has not been canceled. Fingers crossed.

I grew up with Walter Cronkite. One could trust the news back then. I’m not watching any news at all. Not even Fox. Just too dang depressing.
