I was doing some work on a .300 Winmag when our 9 year old grandson saw a couple of Coyotes abut 300 yards out.

We threw on some hearing protection and I head shot the first one, eliminating the head.

Gut shot the second one eliminating the middle part of the body.

Grandson looked at me and said "Think you used enough dynamite there Butch?"

One of the best gifts you can give yourself is to write down the spontaneous statements / exclamations of your children and grand children.

add a short summary of the circumstances to help remind you of the setting.

My wife and I have a lot of fun chuckling over the things the kids have said years ago.
Also fun to tease them with "you know what you said when....."

Just remember, the kids you're tormenting now are the ones who will be choosing your retirement home. Yeah, my parents and grandparents used to do that to me all the time. "But it was sooooooooo cuuute! Don't you think it's funny?" No Grandma, I don't.

That is a great use of a classic line in the OP, though. Big Grin

Art Linkletter became a household name on tv with a feature, “Kids say the Darndest Things” on his Art Linkletter’s House Party. The schtick was later adapted by Bill Cosby and others.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

Kid loves the 70's. Adam 12, Starsky and Hutch, Dragnet.

He started humming the Theme from Shaft. His mother pointed a kitchen knife and my son and I and said "If he sings one word of that song, I will cut you both".
