Which job site style locking tool box?

SportshooterWhich job site style locking tool box?
I’m looking for something I can anchor to the garage foundation. It doesn’t have to be like Fort Knox, but I’d hope it would slow a thief down or cause him to have to make enough noise to alert my neighbor.
Just hoping to retain the few power tools I’ve accumulated over the years. What do my fellow homeowners like?

WoodmanMy Knack is about 20 years old, still works like new. The modern equivalent is the Model 42.
https://www.knaack.com/en/view/42Mine uses two recessed padlocks across the front; the newer model uses a single lock and a slide bolt.

arfmelI have experience with both Rigid and Greenlee, they both seem fine. The Rigid sometimes takes a bit of fiddling to snap the padlocks shut though.
Knaack, Rigid, Greenlee should all work well for you
Buy one that is big enough to hold your side grinders, cutting torches, crow bars and other tools a bad guy might use as tools of opportunity to gain entrance to the box

SportshooterLooked at Knack models 2048 145 lbs. and 4824 158 lbs. Both are 16 cu ft, but at Lowe’s the 4824 is $948 and the 2048 is $480. Both appear to be made out of 16 ga material. So, what could I possibly be getting for an extra $467?

This right here. I bought 4 ~$40 phenolic casters for it and it's been a battleship for years.

c1steveI have the 4824 Knaack, it works great. The latches go in the perfect spot every time, the lock system is excellent. It appears much harder to break into than a low cost safe.
As RC recommended, keep your grinders and cutting tools locked up as well.

Knaack, phenomenal products but on the expensive side. All shapes and sizes.
Greenley, a little less expensive.
Ridged, good bang for your buck, but limited on styles.
If you can find a used Knaack in the style you want, grab it!
Granger supply has some stuff too.

Chris42Craigslist. Buy used, it won’t look brand new and valuable. Could also mount a micro switch inside the lid, connect to a loud car horn or other obnoxious noise device. You know where the switch is to turn it off. If it is large enough but not heavy enough you might put a layer of bricks in the bottom rather than bolting it to the floor. Too heavy to move.

Thanks for a couple of creative ideas.
I still would like to figure out why the same size and virtually the same weight Knaack boxes are so different in price before I buy something.
