I feel your pain. My first one was 9 x 11 mm. The pain puts you down hard. Morphine makes it bearable. Lithotripsy does the job, but having a catheter sucks bad also..especially for two weeks. I hope you get it blasted somehow, and get on the mend. Prayers for you to feel better soon.

Find comfort in knowing that you have the ability to control these episodes going forward.

I went through this torture about 20 years ago and my wife went through it a few years later. While it's an awful experience, I did learn through a competent urologist, that they can be prevented. After a quack MD put me through some unnecessary procedures, I saw a competent specialist that determined I had a rather common condition that could be remedied with a prescription. Definitely worth the follow-up!

Finally was able to pass it, what a relief! Thanks all for the support and ideas. I’m going to incorporate a lot more citrate and fluids in general on the daily.

You folks that are passing stones w/o medical assistance,
Is your
Pain threshold super super high
Or are you
Taking morphine ?

I can't imagine just waiting for them.

Ive had 2. THE most painful thing ever for me.

Do yourself a favor and google Chanca Piedra!
Then make an educated researched decision.

Available at whole foods and Amazon.

Good luck!

Sometimes they passed rather quickly, sometimes been in the er for a few hours with a dilaudid drip that did nothing for the pain...Had a mainframe go down at a customer location while I was trying to fix the issue and had an attack, dealing with support and the customer at the same time was agonizing. No relief coming to let me leave, sweating,in agony finally went to the bathroom and pissed blood and then kerplunk it was out and visible in the urinal. Within 30 seconds the pain is gone and continued to work the problem...

I've felt your pain - 18 times. anywhere from 2mm to 8mm, smooth / round to cat claw shaped. Been kicked, punched, burned, broken bones, shot, and stabbed. Nothing hurt as bad as the kidney stones...

Got it down to a system now. 2 hours of "don't even talk to me" pain, then 8 hours of "I don't know you even exist because the Percocet kicked in" peace / sleep. A week of antibiotics afterwards and I'm good.

Haven't had one in quite a while since I started taking Potassuim Citrate.

I had one last year. Had lithotripsy to break it up. Passed very easily after that. Doctors are so scared to prescribe pain meds now. Stones would be a crappy thing to have with no good pain meds. My stone last year got stuck between the kidney and the bladder. Woke up in the middle of the night. Felt like someone was stabbing me in the back.

Somehow doctors got get back to where they can give you something decent for legit medical needs.
