TigerDoreI hope so, Bob. That is a disgusting, hate-filled, fascist organization. I would love to see it go down.
Sadly, I supported that place 30+ years ago.

It is long past time for a Convention of States. The Founding Fathers gave us this tool to fix an out of control government and we need to use it.

TigerDoreI am already seeing the Leftwing alibi being spread. They are trying to say that the SPLC was only paying informants in the white supremacist groups.
That is just flailing wildly in desperation, and it won't fly for a lot of reasons, but they are marshaling their useful idiots.

Yes, it makes no sense to pay informants if they aren't used for convictions.
There have been no convictions.
They are just paying people and not informing their donors how their money is being used.

ftttuI heard someone refer to the embattled organization as The Smollett Poverty Law Center. What a perfect name!
“There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays.
Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.”

Amen. Unfortunately, thanks to tireless advocacy on their behalf by quislings like Grover Norquist dating back to the Bush administration, they are quite firmly entrenched in Washington.

Or informing their banks of the nature of the organizations to which they have been transferring boat loads of cash. Apparently, that is a federal crime.
It looks like they are up obama creek without a paddle.

TMatsI’m glad my improvident post about the SPLC story resurrected this thread. This is an incredible story that would only be possible under the last POTATUS. I’m not easily surprised any more in politics, especially by the Left, but this one is beyond the pale.

Glynn863The SPLC was founded by Morris Dees, but ironically, the current SPLC leadership voted him out of power several years ago, citing "idealogical differences". Sort of a Steve Jobs scenario.
Years ago, a former coworker once dated Dees' daughter and went over to the Dees house quite often. Coworker said Dees didn't really like "minorities", but knew he could make some money pushing the "victimhood agenda" and such, especially with US gubment scrutiny and support for "fighting" racial happenings within the South, Alabama in particular.
When I lived and worked in the area, I used to go to a sandwich shop in Montgomery close to the SPLC office. SPLC employees came to that sandwich shop quite often. In my observations, they weren't very polite, especially to the shop staff (mainly minorities), and just seemed to be a bunch of scumbags.
I hope appropriate "justice" will be served. JMHO.
