With so many photo hosting websites no longer being free, I was very satisfied with a free photo hosting a forum member did for us. I don’t remember his name but the website was http://iamwingnut.com/ and I recently noticed my avatar photo is no longer showing. I have zero complaints as he was doing it free for us, but I am curious if this is a temporary glitch. If I go to the website to view photos I have there, the website does not load. Just curious if anyone knows anything. Sorry if I have missed a post that already addressed this.

I think I remember seeing someone post a thread asking suggestions for a photo hosting site. I am going to keep trying to find it for the suggestions, but if someone has a link I would appreciate it. I have a lot of pictures with Photobucket but it was crazy when they jacked up their price so high and now have come down to $7 a month I think.

Creslin is the member's name who has been hosting several members' avatars (e.g. you and I) at http://iamwingnut.com/. He last posted 3 days ago.

yeah that was me.

I got hung up trying to:
upgrade my server OS
upgrade to https (because the forum is now https)
and keep all the old photos intact.

it became a large project and then life happened.
I might one day re-do it...
But it's back burner right now

No problem as you do this as a free service for us. Just was checking in. Life does certainly happen and certain tasks can take a lot of work. Thanks for what you do.

I'm fairly certain sigmonkey will host photos for members, as do I.

I'll host but there is a huge backlog to process requests.

Orguss, aren’t you the guy that ranted at anyone with an avatar larger than 60x60 pixels? It appears that your current avatar is 160x160 pixels.

I can and do host avatar pics as well as optimize and resize them so they are not badly pixilated if reduced.

There might still be a problem with the images link being accepted by the forum backend java script that fetches the image. (I think I know why, but need to test with someone).

Well, since you have demonstrated in the past that you have no concept for how large an image actually is, I'll inform you that my avatar is, in fact, 60x60.
